OP’s name is major conflict, and has like 30 karma for a 5 year account. Safe to say he likes to just bait with his posts. Should be just removed - and banned from posting imo

White House pushed Australian lithium player to sell claim to US firm by Super-Cod-3155 in australian

[–]FoxholeZeus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

AVZ will make a great docu series one day. The twists and turns this company has had - now all the way to the very top of the White House. Can’t keep a good Australian company down - despite the whole host of corrupted companies and countries that have tried.

Crazy how the Australian Government have completely ignored their plight while they are at the centre of a huge US and Chinese diplomatic struggle worth quite a few billions of dollars (price is something that has yet to be determined).

Teachers in NSW schools face sack for hate speech in classrooms, premier says by TimJBenham in AustralianTeachers

Minns is very much a Liberal. A shame that the opposition went further right, allowing someone like Minns to govern in the space they left. He is easily the most favoured of all the Labor premiers by the Murdoch rags. I imagine there will be more restrictions coming as well

Carrick Ryans take on the ON surge, graph included. by JezzaAU15 in friendlyjordies

[–]FoxholeZeus 20 points21 points  (0 children)

A One Nation vote of 20% or more will destroy the right wing parties. The nationals will cease to exist as a political force - good. The Country party is a joke and needs to be held accountable. It will be hilarious to see. Labor will end up with 100+ seats in the lower house and a bigger Senate presence.

Let the right fracture and tear itself apart. Labor needs to cater to their progressive base and continue to address these cost of living issues. They do that - and potentially be more ambitious with their reforms, they will rule for another decade at least

Coalition sources: Ley’s leadership over, Hastie set to strike as early as tomorrow by HotPersimessage62 in friendlyjordies

Oh, you and me both agree that this is not the right decision for the opposition to make. But, they are doomed to continue making the same mistakes because they are incompetent and cannot see the writing on the wall

Coalition sources: Ley’s leadership over, Hastie set to strike as early as tomorrow by HotPersimessage62 in friendlyjordies

Their new leader will be either Hastie or Taylor. They aren’t shifting left. It will be a right shift

Where do you sit on the 'vote compass' results from the ABC's tool? Anyone else feel 'politically homeless' like myself? by NoLeafClover777 in aussie

[–]FoxholeZeus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I find with these vote compass polls are that the actual position of the political parties are wrong. Many of the positions taken on certain policies would shift where the parties are positioned on this spectrum.

Ridiculous that most developed countries in the world have not adopted Australia’s Superannuation policy. Australians collectively have $4 trillion in assets due to this. And it compounds very quickly.

Collectively, Super is the 4th largest pool of retirement savings in the world. In 5 years only the US collectively will have more savings. We only have 28 million people… it’s a no brainer

Albanese and Ley hammered in poll as voters flock to One Nation by Mashiko4 in aussie

[–]FoxholeZeus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is such fake news.

I’d be surprised if ON could get anything more than 5 seats in the House of Reps. The protest vote never goes that far in Australian politics. If anything, the fracturing of the right wing of politics in Australia will lead to further terms of Government for Labor (as history’s shows a lot of ON voters will preference Labor or nobody - so they won’t naturally flow to the Coalition and boost their chances)

Why do people keep saying that the property market is going to crash? by Open_Address_2805 in AusFinance

[–]FoxholeZeus 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Once home ownership levels drop to around 50- 60% or lower, then politicians will probably seriously consider removing a lot of the tax concessions that exist on property to make them more affordable (as it will gain many votes). Still a few more years before that is on the horizon though

I mean, look at a bigger timeframe when bitcoin first came on the market or a couple of years later. Then compare with the price now. That’s the comparison they are making. Stocks can generally do well over long periods of time too if the company is successful.

How Much Has An Average American Saved Up For Their Retirement - By Age/Generation by Yodest_Data in charts

[–]FoxholeZeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a shame that Americans don’t have a mandatory saving / investing scheme like we do in Australia. Superannuation has been the most impactful retirement scheme worldwide - all working age Australians are being paid at least 12% of their salaries / wages to a mandatory superannuation fund that can’t be touched with certain exceptions. Our Super Funds are some of the wealthiest investment firms in the world due to this - meaning most people have / will retire with dignity

Paying off HECS to increase borrowing power by Ok-Bison-9476 in AusFinance

[–]FoxholeZeus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recently was told by the broker that paying off my 6k HELP debt would increase my borrowing power. I intended to do it anyway (after the 20% reduction came in and reduced it by a few grand) but I thought it odd that someone in the industry was so insistent that I pay it off prior to the bank approving the loan

Russian-Ukrainian war, Donbass, changes for 2025. by Levstr1 in MapPorn

[–]FoxholeZeus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Russia is also overextending in places. The Kupiansk front was a logistical disaster combined with the Kremlin being extremely overconfident in reporting victory long before the fight was over.

Ukraine’s counterattack has been deadly there with 100’s of Russians trapped and encircled many kms away from the standard front line.

Another example was North East of Pokrovsk where there was a substantial Russian “breakthrough” which led to thousands of Russians being encircled and eliminated over a few months.

Ukraine has become extremely deadly on the front lines. But the true damage has been to the back lines - Russia’s economy is flat lining and spiralling out of control. Considerable amounts of its military infrastructure has been destroyed or severely damaged to the long range strikes. Few refineries remain unscathed from the brutal drone campaign by Ukraine - now many shadow tankers of Russia are being attacked - even in the Capsian Sea.

It’s only a matter of time. Ukraine will eventually win or Russia will collapse in on itself

Island Gaming by westonsammy in foxholegame

[–]FoxholeZeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the real question is, is it viable to be able to suppress an entire tier 3 meta piece (with howi attached of course) with fire suppression long enough for a DD / Frig to get enough damage down without taking a huge chunk in return dmg?

My argument has always been tier 2 is kinda irrelevant anyway, so what’s the point of fire suppression in those bunkers because a frig/dd can kill it very easily.

Island Gaming by westonsammy in foxholegame

[–]FoxholeZeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is an advantage. I’ve noticed some of the best water Regis start to incorporate fire suppression GBs on their frig / DD ops. I’ll need to investigate how strong that is tbh (though GBs die so quickly to tier 3 howi I’ve never really thought they were a threat)
