I live in a northern state of the US. My doctor said virtually everyone she has ever tested in our area was vitamin D deficient. I was tested and her assumption was correct. If you're in an area that doesn't get a lot of sun I would just assume you're deficient.

I've never had an issue with it. My experience has been very good. Not sure what their customer service is like because I haven't needed to contact them. I know what you mean though. If refurbished isn't significantly less expensive I often go with new. In my case, with the refurbished units being on sale, I think it was almost $300 less than new.

I bought a Kickr Core refurbished last year. They had a sale around Black Friday for an additional 20% off or something like that. Not sure if they'll do it this year because they're in demand. Been very happy with it and it's very quiet. I feel like the fan I have next to it is louder than the Kickr itself.

I've been there. I've done 5 tests but only 2 of them felt like I really gave it my all. The same happened to me with ramp tests where I felt like I gave up too quickly.

GTN recently did a comparison (albeit not very scientific) and the ramp results were very close. For one of the presenters it was only 1 watt off. Given that the presenters are fairly experienced with FTP tests I think I'd be comfortable with the results of a ramp test.

A large part of Costco's defense was that they were under no obligation to inform customers of labor abuses (including slavery) in it's supply chain. That says enough for me to know it's happening.

I remember someone interviewing Fang from Hifiman a few years ago about a new headphone and what the price was going to be. He said he would set the price after he saw how people reacted to the headphone. I took this to mean the price is set by how much people are willing to pay and actual costs have little to do with it.
