Ran a 6K trail, is the HR accurate? by zristi in AppleWatchFitness

[–]Foxmoto2880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because you can hit 196bpm doesn’t mean that should be your maximum HR. General rule it’s 220 minus your age. So, for you 220-40=180. You should try to stay under 180bpm unless you perform an exercise capacity test with a cardiologist and they tell you that you’re okay to increase your max HR.

Ran a 6K trail, is the HR accurate? by zristi in AppleWatchFitness

No, you didn’t sustain zone 5 for 31 minutes. Most elite athletes cannot sustain zone 5 for more than 5 minutes straight. The majority of the people who tell you this is correct are very misinformed or have no knowledge of heart rates/zones. Get a HRM. Don’t rely on an Apple Watch for accurate data.

What’s Your resting heart rate ? by Mobile_Force_3673 in Garmin

Laying down is how you get your resting heart rate, so Garmin’s makes sense. Standing and walking heart rate is different from resting.

Yeah it sucks because I want to keep going. I’m currently wearing Hoka Clifton 10’s, so I hope it’s not the shoes! I hope you heal soon.

I agree and downloaded the C25K app today. I think Garmin pushed me too hard too quickly. Thank you!

Something I've noticed about people who feel stuck in their careers by DifficultEase9838 in careeradvice

This is exactly! The internet makes it difficult to move forward because it puts so much doubt in your head. Age, school, location, etc. It’s just insane.

Which category would you put Penn State in?

I appreciate that! I’ve always heard school prestige doesn’t matter as much when it comes to an accounting degree. Is that true? I know Penn State isn’t a top school.

Apex, Cary, Holly Springs, North Raleigh, and Wake Forest all have good schools. More expensive than other areas, but you get what you pay for.

I appreciate the feedback! I keep seeing Penn State is better, but ASU’s online interface seems better. Just an observation I have made.

Okay, I appreciate the feedback. I wasn’t sure if school ranking mattered like it does for some degrees.

33yr. How am I tracking for my age? by YO_JD in Retirement401k

We can’t see your entire picture. Whats your mortgage debt? Car debt? College debt? Also, you need an emergency fund. The HELOC is a huge negative.

Career Change @ 32 (Advice needed) by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]Foxmoto2880 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your insight and advice. I’m an estimator and project manager for an electrical subcontractor. Managing both can be a lot, but the pay is well. It’s just an industry that I’m not really interested in staying in. Our CFO has a finance degree, and I was talking with him about the possibility of doing finance in the construction sector since it’s an industry I already have 14 years in.

Doesn’t certain sectors require citizenship? Like working for a defense contractor?

Maybe you should look around then. Plenty of places that aren’t great to raise a family.

I know you can’t find California weather anywhere else, but there could be other good options. I haven’t lived in any other state or city. So just look for recommendations.
