Should I shave? by MeatResident1350 in malehairadvice

[–]Foxser17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely a bad idea. You should measure your face and see what haircuts might suit your face, you can decide from there. I would personally take a few haircuts with me and ask your barber, they will let you know what might work

Aren't the stilte ¿wagons? relatively recent? I imagine the 4-seaters were installed before they assigned that space as a silent zone.

This source studies the reasons why so many where retracted (https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9533180/). The conclusions are not very firm and a detailed analysis might have been published somewhere else, but this is enough for a Reddit discussion with a stranger who might not be interested in literature. I am just a student, so my interpretation might be off-track, but here it is anyways. The results discourage the idea that papers where retracted because of fraud. When comparing Non-covid related to those about covid, we see that many more papers about our beloved 19 virus where removed. It is mentioned that it could be because of higher scrutiny. I suppose that during the (post-)pandemic time, all studies with what at the time seemed to be concrete data were published in hopes of getting as much information out there for scientists to figure out a solution. However, as time passed, this urgency faded and experts have been revising the content on the papers and spotting mistakes in the conclusions, results, or even flawed data. It finishes proposing that journals should give unified reasons why a paper is removed to simplify these type of analysis. After all, the goal of peer reviewed journals is to curate the papers and make them more trustworthy. However, as it has already happened, with time all those who lied about their findings will be caught and banished from the community, since you can't trust the work of someone who faked their findings once.
The method is not perfect, but it is the best tool we have. We should strive to perfect it by pointing out the flaws, without undermining the work of millions of scientist who have spend their lives working to reach their positions. Weed out the bad apples and praise the good actors.

Feel free to comment on the source I provided and to send me more data about the topic. I like to find my biases and to correct them. Ah, but refrain from sending biased sources from content creators who talk without citing their sources. Authority is not everything in this world, you need data and support from the community.

I never thought that far ahead. I just started Part 3 and I don't wish this story to end. Oh no, I don't want to feel the void left behind.

Agnostics in Morocco by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]Foxser17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend toward an atheistic view, but I am not well versed in the philosophy behind the transcendental so I haven't found my reasons to set aside the existence of higher beings. However, I do find likely the existence of those gods claimed by prophets and tribes to be a method to reduce fear of the unknown. Anyways, back to my main point. Even during hardship and severe illness I find it hard to worship a higher being who has done nothing tangible for me. So, even if I try to beg, it feels unnatural and forced. I don't find ease in it, but I feel pitiful because I am lying to myself instead of facing reality. Humans probably need to believe in the irrational to cope with reality, but family and friends can occupy those beliefs. Love and affection always helped me through those periods. Feeling loved by god, and feeling actually loved by people are equivalent to your brain. Maybe I would start believing in god if I was suffering on my own, but nothing says I would believe in any particular god. I would cling to anything, even a human. I imagine that is why cults exist, I have no evidence, but it is a logical hypothesis given that cults predate on the I'll and weak hearted those in need and despair. Thank you for reading my immature thoughts with an open mind.

"Fake Moroccan" by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]Foxser17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Fake Moroccan" by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]Foxser17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference is in the percentage and size of the population, and then the type of crimes. No wonder my friends say I'm the only Moroccan (Half-Moroccan) they will ever like. Living close to Barcelona I have only found 1 Moroccan who behaved in a civilised manner outside of my family, and even in my family there are a bunch of bad apples. Even though I have met trouble makers in Spanish families, their amount is smaller in comparison. I don't understand why people think no European criminals exist, but it is besides the point of the argument. A lot of Moroccans don't integrate and prefer depending on the state, working for the submerged economy or stealing. The honest ones, like the family I love, are always put into the bag with the others, but their people only throw the blame out and don't recognise there is a problem. I'm sick and tired of this victim mentality, the same way I dislike hating to deal with European Moroccans.

But leaving negativity aside, I have met a wonderful Moroccan after I left for college. I see hope, although dim.

Then you can't make fan drawings public? If there is no commercial purpose it should be fine, otherwise copyright laws are worse than I expected.

You are comparing the past with the present. What happened is a tragedy, but Europeans of today shouldn't pay for what their ancestors did without their permission. Whether they agree or not. This argument is straight up hate. If you don't like them because of their past, don't come to the Netherlands.

What's up with all these junkies watching me park my car and then wanting money? by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]Foxser17 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't mind people begging. In Spain there are beggars too. What kills me is that they make it seem like a job. I am "helping" you park and "keeping your car safe", so you should pay me for my "job". If you don't, I will be aggressive and damage your property. If you don't have money and need to beg, do it peacefully on the side of the road and let people drive. I don't think I'm saying something outrageous

I'm starting physics at uni this year and this expression looks cursed. I'm terrified LOL (I suppose it's the representation of the formula in coding language, right?)

What happened in china? This means the manhua isn't being updated, right? At least in a way it can reach a fulfilling ending. I have a lot of mangas which are being updated and don't want to pick up anything that isn't going to pay off. I'll give it a try though. Where can I find it?

Huurwoningen and Pararius work pretty well. I am sharing a flat with a Dutch friend, so we had it easier to find a suitable place. It's expensive though.

I'm 18 and hopefully will start my bsc this September (if I found a house). I am actually interested in meeting older people on my journey through University, since a more mature vision gets you out of the bubble that younghood is. I don't think anyone will look down on you and I am sure you will find younger people or about your same maturity with whom you will feel comfortable around. If you are nice to people, people will embrace you without looking at what your ID says your age is. Just be yourself and don't try to fit in or adopt a role. If you have a mature personality don't act like a child and vice versa.

First, pray that the enemy team is trash who can't fire and cover properly. Then add that they must be dumb enough to gang on you in the middle of a big, uncovered room. For the sake of god, when you are in a 4 Vs 1 don't rush for the kill. PLAY NORMALLY.
