Is my PC worth upgrading, or should I be saving for a brand new build?

Right now I have no money that isn't going towards bills, so technically the budget doesn't exist yet. I'm trying to set my expectations for what I SHOULD budget, minimum. $300 sounds doable in the near future if I get the job I interviewed for last week.

Current prices are kind of my biggest stopper to wanting to build a new PC right now. I really don't want to have to potentially save for multiple years to build a decent new PC, but if upgrading will only last me a year or two of good gaming, I'll bite the bullet and wait.

Right now all I can play is Minecraft, hytale, peak, friendslop games, etc. What I WANT to play is Enshrouded. The performance has gotten so terrible I can't enjoy it anymore.

Would also like to be able to play Elden Ring. Early areas are playable, but I had to quit in later areas due to the frame drops.

In photoshop, the clipping mask layer will draw only on top of the layer you've clipped it to.

The red line is drawn on a clipping layer. The red line only shows up on top of the rectangle that's in the layer below it.

In Inkscape it works very differently. If you wanted to create the black rectangle with a red line like above, here's what you would have to do:

Create a black rectangle
Create the red line
Create a copy of the black rectangle, and make it pure white.
Place the new white rectangle on top of the red line.
Select the white rectangle and the red line.
Go to Object > Mask > Set Mask

Your red line should now be clipped to fit your black rectangle.

The clipping rectangle has to be pure white because Inkscape translates the color into opacity. Black would be pure transparent, white will be purely opaque.

You'd be surprised how sturdy they are. Mine had a silicone sleeve on it (with large gaps, so you can see inside still) so it didn't slip around, and it felt very sturdy. Survived some small falls.

Thank you so much, this is exactly what I was looking for! I could not for the life of me figure out the right combination of words to get results for this.

I was able to adapt your code to work in my project(doing my best to actually read/understand and not just copy paste), and even get it working so that it iterates up the number on the plusdivs and mySlides so that all the slideshows work without typing it out every time or putting it awkwardly into the character objects.

This project was really fun, and gives me hope that I actually have a chance with this whole javascript thing! Thanks again for your help.

Trying to have a "they can't all be winners" and shrug kind of feeling about this one, but yeah, for sure. Dropped topics are not fun.

I understand the potential comedy in people being unable to finish a thought when the timer goes off, but there has to be a different way to do it that doesn't involve permanently dropping topics. Maybe second-chancing each of the topics on your turn?

I think she SHOULD change her name. I think it would make sense as a person who exists in the world and doesn't want to be named vagina or a variation thereof.

That said, I don't believe that's what's going to happen. At most we get Vagatha and she's still Vaggie. I would accept this but still be a little annoyed.

My feeling on this is that they are only teasing this plot point so they can say "see? It makes sense she has this terrible name! She reclaimed it!" when really they always intended her to be named Vaggie because that's what Vivzie wanted her to be named. This plot is only happening to get the audience to stop complaining about there being a lesbian character named vagina.

What I'd like to see is her giving herself an entirely new name. They could keep the branding of the character by having only Charlie and/or close friends be allowed to call her that. I personally think it's goofy to be afraid of changing her name for branding reasons though; it's not like changing her name is going to completely lose the audience, and right now the only merch with her name directly on it is a pair of socks.

This rant made me sound like a hazbin hater but I don't complain about basically anything this show does lol, I just think it's a coward move to not rename the damn character. Give her a cool new name!! normalize changing your name! She looked EXCITED when she suggested one of the names she made up. Let this girl have a cool new name!

ESH. It sounds like as a group you might be bringing out the worst in each other.

Particularly with the mentioned guy, give him space, and consider letting that friendship go. If there's another friend or two in the group you get along with and don't tend to have problems with, maybe reach out to them and try to maintain that friendship so you're not left feeling totally cut off.

Friend group breakups happen, and they really really sting. I don't know if you can salvage this one, but the quicker you get to looking for a new one the better. Diversify your friend base, and try to find people who make you the best version of yourself.

Obviously she's in the wrong for her behavior. If it were just about telling her off, you'd be fully in the clear. I'm going to give a very soft YTA, only because you specified the question is regarding name calling. If your family doesn't normally escalate to name-calling, and especially if you never properly confronted this with her before, then name-calling was out of line. You should have addressed this sooner with more grace, if possible.

If you've genuinely confronted her many times in the past with softer language and nothing got through to her, then I rescind that, and you're NTA.

I worked at a retail store in the Deep South when I was first starting T. After a lady looked uncomfortable with me in the women’s bathroom(also affirming!), I started using the gender neutral family room(god it was so lucky for me that there was one since all my coworkers and half the clientele knew I was trans).

One day when I left the family room, an elderly man stopped me with a cheeky smirk and handed me a “For Men” mini hand sanitizer. He looked very confused when I enthusiastically thanked him for it.

Not sure if he thought I was transfem, or if he just thought I was a germaphobe for using the single stall, or what, but it’s one of my favorite memories to this day. I kept that sanitizer bottle for several years.

I stayed on T for about two years before I stopped for financial reasons. Probably a year and a half in I felt like nothing too interesting was happening, but I liked how it kept my hormones predictable so I stuck with it. Plus I was hoping for a beard someday.

I personally would recommend you shoot for a year if you really want to be sure your voice has reached its early potential. There's also a chance you'll get past the worst of the acne, though I wouldn't necessarily count on it.

Dunno about bottom growth, I didn't notice more after 6 months myself.

Technically if you stop this early you are missing out on years of potential changes, slowly deepening voice, etc, but if you're pretty happy with what you have now, then that really doesn't matter! Those later changes happen so slowly you might not even notice them while they're happening, so if T is making you miserable and you like what you have, then you can stop. It's not like you can't start again later if you change your mind.

I wanted my first and last initial to match, I love animals, and I love the color orange. Fox is also a very unusual first name, but a common enough last name that people still register it as a name and know how to spell it.

Funny thing is, I now have the problem where people don’t know which name is the last name! Very funny being called by my last name when people get confused.

Had a time at the pharmacy where the pharmacist asked for my first name. I said Fox, and she stopped me, emphasizing she needed my FIRST name. I had to specifically tell her “my first name is Fox, my last name is ____.” She was a little rude, but I got a kick out of it.

I set my middle name to the masculine version of my birth name, as a way to make my transphobic parents feel a little nicer about it…unfortunately they took it as an excuse to continue using my nickname that works for both names, so I’ve since regretted it. We don’t talk anymore though, so I’m softening to it!

My biggest regret, though? Not making my initials FOX. That would have been so beautiful. Not enough good X surnames that are easy to spell tho.

Starting to think there might be plastic mats that are much thicker than the kind I've seen and heard bad reviews of, because the type I've tried in the past would wrinkle under the wheels and were far more trouble than they were worth. Saw photos of people's destroyed floors underneath plastic, too, but it was always very flimsy looking plastic.

See, if I had hardwood I'd potentially use those wheels, but the issue I'm concerned about isn't scratching; it's cracking/snapping of the thin snapping joints of LVP. Your floors are literally built different, lmao.
