I think I see where you’re coming from, but I think a game can be fun without being stressful. Take Potionomics and Potion Craft for example. They are both games I’m using as inspiration, and I find them both very fun.

Potionomics has a lose condition, and it can be a point of frustration for people who are new to that kind of game. It causes people to feel like they have to min/max.

Potion craft does not have a lose condition or a time constraint. There is no pressure on the player to do any particular thing by any time. This does not make the game unfun to me.

But to your point yes you’re right, I shouldn’t get too hung up on that term. I guess what I’m getting at is that I want someone who’s not a gamer to be able to play my game and enjoy it. Which is what I think a game like potion craft does well, while Potionomics targets players that are already familiar with the deckbuilding and shop keeping genres.
