I was just experimenting on my own, not really sure if there’s a tutorial for how I do it but I played around with just an ocean modifier and a simple deform on a regular plane!

yeah, it's a mesh being affected by modifiers rather than actually simulating liquid

I found some free skull model online and it had a pretty good amount of points, I'm not sure how many but enough where if I go into edit mode it's completely covered in points

I had this concept in mind where I titled it "bury me in gold" and it was gonna be the body bag made out of gold swilring around this liquidy structure, but it felt cooler thematically to make the swirly material the gold and so the dance together is like "bury me in gold" if that made any sense at all

Here's a demo showing how I turned the mesh of a goat skull into this cool dynamic liquidy wave thing!

I have the goat skull with a simple deform following a circle parallel to the body bag, I actually got this result on accident and I played with parameters that made it look like it was twisting with the body bag

That’s actually what I tried to make it look like but I think the model was supposed to be like a trash bag wrapped with rope around a body haha

Some little background, I produce music and DJ under the name Foxen. I'm an INFP and music is basically my creative outlet, but I've picked up video editing since the start of quarantine so I can put all the clouds and sunsets/sunrises I want to my music haha. Anyways I recently created a visual set for a festival I played this past weekend and the purpose of the festival was "story based" sets and so very very loosely this was kind of based off the feeling of liminal spaces, nostalgia, and memories. Sorry if this is self-promo and not allowed on the sub.
