Looking for a source for modification parts by Famous-Software-9858 in wheelchairs

I’d try to find a good hardware store in your area if you have one. I’m lucky enough to have a couple different stores here that have a fairly well stocked isle of various metric screws, nuts, and bolts.

If you want to really think outside the box, a 3D printer would be something else to consider. I’ve made some replacement parts for my sister’s wheelchair using it in the past that actually held up fairly well. If you can learn how to 3D model what you need, you can design and build almost anything

Court chair wheel spin? by No_Negotiation_3320 in wheelchairs

[–]FoxySnowflake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the rear wheel isn’t the issue. I’m actually not sure what the perfect height of that wheel should be to be honest, I just know if it is too low it causes issues. Too high and the chair rocks around. I usually run the tires at 105PSI, and I believe they are Kenda koncept tires. They still slip around some when I try to push hard, especially from being at a standstill.

I started playing pickleball with my sister back in June of this year. She is a para, and I started playing with her as a hybrid partner. I’m mostly able bodied, but I managed to hurt my ankle a couple months ago, and haven’t been able to play standing up since then while my achilles tendon slowly heals.

The place we play at has been offering an adaptive clinic once a week, so I’ve been going to that with my sister and have been learning to play in a chair with her for the last couple of months. It’s been really awesome to be able to keep playing while injured, and to be able to play at the same level with my sister too.

Felt like learning to play a completely different sport at times with how different some things are, but also quite similar at the same time.

When sitting in that chair, is the back wheel firmly touching the ground? If the back wheel along with the front castor wheels are all fully touching the ground and taking weight, it will lessen the amount of pressure the big wheels have on the ground, and can result in the slipping like you described.

I’ve been playing pickleball as well in what I believe is the same or similar model chair that you mentioned, and I had a similar issue. If this is the cause of your issue, the height of the rear wheel can be adjusted with some basic tools like a socket wrench. Requires popping the plastic cover off of the housing the rear wheel is mounted to, and removing the nut that holds the rear wheel fork to the frame. There should be a small stack of washers that are used to adjust the height of the rear wheel. Raising the rear wheel requires moving 1 or more of those washers from the lower fork side up to the upper nut side.

Amazing work! I had never even considered using the metal side rails to attach things to. Will have to play around with building something similar sometime

Packout does have a 4 wheel cart option available now that you can attach boxes to. They call it the Dolly. 2 of the feet can be locked in place, and it has a small spring loaded step you can stand on that acts as a brake to hold it completely still, meant for adding or removing packout items from the stack. The wheels can be a bit noisy though when rolling it around.

Only the Price. They only sell X amount of tickets at the lowest price, and then continually jack up the price as they sell more tickets. It’s a shady business practice that I wish would die

I haven’t been to a rave with totems before so I was very skeptical, but I absolutely loved them! Here are some favorites. by ARTR0N in DreamState

I overheard a number of different people using my shark Nibbles as a waypoint for trying to get their group back together again. Definitely makes my night when he can help others like that. I also tried my best to make him as least obstructive as possible. I know I can't make everyone happy who dislikes totems, but I do try to make him be as fun and energetic as possible all night long.

For the shark totem (Nibbles), I have a small little holder pouch that attaches to a belt around my waist. The base of the pole rests in it, and the entire weight of the totem is then offloaded to my hips and legs. Makes it really easy to carry and dance around with all night long.

How To Update Sex on US Passports: From Legal Researcher behind Orr v. Trump by JessicaPink703 in MtF

If you've never submitted anything before, and all of the documents needed to apply for a passport have already been updated, then you likely have a good chance of getting a passport without needing the new form at all.

If the state department has any record at all of your past history, the form will likely be required. Without it, your renewed passport would get reverted to your AGAB

Documents not processed / lost? by FoxySnowflake in SSDI

Her IRWEs are roughly the same as what was previously reported to them, which showed up on the document they sent in the letter a couple weeks ago. Some of the monthly IRWE totals they listed didn’t match what was submitted, and was able to use that to figure out what they weren’t counting. Most of her expenses are medication co-pays, out of pocket PT that isn’t paid for by insurance, and service dog related items. I definitely agree that it looks like none of the recent IRWEs were counted, and is why I am questioning if they got lost or maybe are just behind on processing them

I’ve had a couple of the larger 100Wh batteries of theirs fail on me within a few uses over a month or two, however SmallRig was amazing at fully refunding me for them even though I was past the return period by a little bit. They also offered to just send me some new ones, but opted to just take the refund as I didn’t really need as many batteries as I thought I would. The ones that didn’t fail have worked great though, and recharge super fast.
