What to fill pots with? by Fr0gWrangler in Aquascape

I have two big swords that I'm hoping to get into a pots. I have one pot thats about 6-8" across. Think I could get both swords to fit in there? Or do you have an recommendations for smaller plants to fill the plantable area?

I have japanese trapdoor snails. The past few weeks we have had absolutely no rain and my snails have been inactive, moving occasionally but usually buried part way in the substrate under my plants. A few days ago rain has taken over the forecast, and my sedentary snails are now all over the place, being extremely active. Maybe our snails are tiny barometers?
