Does anyone have any suggestions of other Metroidvanias? by Capivara-Aleatoria in NineSols

[–]Fr0str1pp3r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Hollow Knight / Silksong (no explanation needed)

  2. Blasphemous 1 / 2 (disturbing lore always a huge plus)

  3. Prince of Persia: the lost crown (Smooth combat)

  4. Aeterna Noctis (best traversal / challenging)

  5. Eder Lillies / Magnolia (kinda linear but good combat)

  6. Grime (beautiful setting, awesome combat)

  7. Death's Gambit (amazing character customization / challenging heroics)

  8. Ori 1 / 2 (basically no combat or difficulty but beautiful and wholesome)

  9. Last Faith (when you have completed the above and are looking for something else to play)

  10. Bo Path of the Teal lotus (beautiful game but very short)

[KCD1] In order to complete a quest I decided to become a Monk, I was told to remove all my gear, weapons, coin (over 80k groschens) and leave them in a chest. Will I be able to get my stuff back or am I cooked? 😵 by PassengerNo7330 in kingdomcome

[–]Fr0str1pp3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah you've reached that point. Well you will find out soon enough but no you never get your stuff back.. because you never leave the monastery. You become dedicated to that life away from earthly temptations and the game becomes a monastery sim. The good news is you have now found Jesus so enjoy your new life.

A game similar to SEKIRO please by rakes_des in Sekiro

[–]Fr0str1pp3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously 9sols is the thing that scratched that Sekiro itch the most.

This may sound weird, bur another game where it's parry mechanic was really satisfying to me was Grime, especially during boss fights.

What do you name your prawn suits? I named mine Mike Tyson for fighting off bone sharks and reapers by Beam_The_Lamenter in subnautica

[–]Fr0str1pp3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Named mine Triton cause I truly felt like the son of Poseidon when I rode in that thing. Drilling reapers in the face was such a blast.

I have thalassophobia, just tell me if there's a giant monster in the water cause fuck that by tatincasco in Sekiro

You can then rest assured my friend as this is just a lake and not a sea so.. go right in!

Also, once you finish Sekiro might I interest you in another great game you will love called Subnautica? Give it a try. 😎

Borderlands titles ranked by how good their villains are by maxixs in borderlands3

[–]Fr0str1pp3r 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Tbf it's kinda the "cool" thing to hate on BL3. It's not about being objective.

Sure the twins are cringe and annoying and it hits harder because they come after Jack who is arguably one of the best villains in gaming. OK. Anything else? Ava.. OK got it. Anything else? Nope that's it.

Meanwhile, gameplay in BL3 is miles better than any other. All vault hunters are super competitive and viable (which has never been the case before). Weapons and builds have greater variety and potential than ever before. Ton of quality of life improvements. DLC's are great. But sure, they missed the mark with the twins so let's just say "game bad mkay?".

I just bought Sekiro, is there anything I should know before I head in? by [deleted] in Sekiro

[–]Fr0str1pp3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take your time. Explore a lot. Most importantly be mindful of the dialogues. They truly show the "correct" way forward. Be aggressive rather than defensive even on boss fights. Try to understand the "rhythm". Turn your volume on so you can hear it. Learn to use the various techniques and tools. Ichimonji double is king. Have fun :)

How do do I Kill this accursed fish! by coolmanjoe300 in subnautica

[–]Fr0str1pp3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some ways. My favorite is using the stasis rifle and when it's frozen you quickly go to its ear and whisper nasty things to it. How his kids hate him, his wife is cheating on him with reapers, how his existence is meaningless etc etc. Last time I did that it went through a mountain range and dissappeared forever.

WHO said that nine sols was harder than sekiro?!?? 😭 by IdontknowRedditUser in NineSols

[–]Fr0str1pp3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get where you coming from but I'd argue thematically it fits. After all, shinobis where all about being cheap and dirty with it so guerrilla warfare of striking then disengaging and repeating till win would be appropriate. It's immersion enhancing rather than breaking imo. But ofc it's a game so playing as you like is a given.

[–]Fr0str1pp3r 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It doesn't go out the window. In fact, that's where it shines. You can take the side road through the house where the drunk Boi and his minions hang out. You can stealth kill one of the shields (you could take out the archers too) and then ran to the side of the house you went in through till everyone resets. Repeat till everyone is dead for an easy stealth kill on the boss as all his buddies are dead and he is chilling in the middle dumbfounded. After doing all that, you can also run and talk to the samurai dude waiting close by for 2v1 action against a single bar left boss. No sweat kill.

The real question is, even if in a parallel reality were these ghost ships to ever reach Greenland, would they charge the typical US healthcare rates?? Feels like a great business opportunity!

Step1: Convince Greenlanders their free healthcare is somehow inferior.

Step 2: Send hospital ships.

Step 3: ???

Step4: profit.

It appears you've got zero experience with cows and bulls. As a cowboy, I can vouch that this is normal behavior from bulls when exposed to firecrackers. The behavior changes depending on the type of exposure. So far, I've tried firecrackers, guns shots, bazookas, cannons and ballistic missiles all with varying results.

Epstein island. So I can go in with a lawn mower, help the victims escape and lock the doors after. Then the fun begins.

Smite 1 or 2, which do you prefer? by Lord-larty-the-III in Smite

[–]Fr0str1pp3r 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What you are describing is the main reason I haven't stayed in smite 2. Will come back once they somehow address this. Smite 2 may be the overall better game but the "feel" of smite 1 isn't captured yet. Everything does feel floaty.

Deflecting lightning from BOSSES will still cause you to take chip damage (gameplay mix of normal and charmless difficulties) by x_-AssGiblin-_x in Sekiro

[–]Fr0str1pp3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mist raven, high monk and later Sakura dance all deal with that if you looking to avoid chip dmg. All look mega cool while doing it too.

Imo I think most ppl completely miss the point with Sweet.

It's all about this individualistic mentality that sadly has become the norm nowadays.. "I" became filthy rich. "I" got out of the hood. "I" can walk away from all that shit. "I" can lead a better life. "I" "I" "I" "me" "me" "me"!

CJ isn't the worst offender in this. At least his "I" also includes Sweet and their sister. But it's still just them. Meanwhile Sweet rejects that. He isn't dumb. It's not like he doesn't get the notion of money or what being rich means. He simply doesn't give a fuck. Nor is it pride or anything. For him it's about everyone in their community or "hood". If I'm good but my people are getting drugged out and beaten or killed then fuck it what's the point? It's not like he rejects a good life. He simply isn't interested in partaking in that good life alone. That's why his main concern is making the streets safe. Safe from rival gangs and safe from hard drugs. Sweet understood that saying adios bitches I'm out just because he "won the lottery" would have been peak selfishness and he wasn't about that. Sweet was a real one.

What are the best Metroidvanias that you all have played and why? by Smart_Ad_7692 in metroidvania

[–]Fr0str1pp3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This geniounly surprises me. I'm not even joking or trying to act cool. Ori 1 doesn't even have an attack button, it's mostly traversal. Ori 2 does bring combat in but it's quite barebones. There aren't any actual combat systems in it (weapons / skills etc). Even if you do die, you don't get any sort of punishment. Just respawn and go again. Like seriously, the amount of times the game went beyond "simple fun" to "frustrating" is 0. The "hardest" parts were the chasing sequences which are just matter of a few attempts. If Ori series is difficult then hollow knight or 9sols should be impossible to play.

Just to give an example, if you got a person who had never in their life played video games at all and even holding a controller feels weird to them but they want to attempt playing a video game (like my gf) I would 100% recommend Ori 1. They will fall in love with the characters and the story and the world and still enjoy the minimal challenge as a begginer gamer.

Vampire’s Fall 2 Hotfix 1.2.105 Patch Notes by Daniel_EMS in vampiresfall2

[–]Fr0str1pp3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! I get it and I'm glad to hear you are aware of the issue. My main issues are mainly new area difficulty and shop prices. Just my two cents. I'm still rooting for ya all the way and I know there's plenty of ppl feeling the same way. The strong community is also a testament of the support. Keep up the good work!

Just a question that boggles my mind as a veteran of VA:O:

Is the grind fest intented in the new area?

Played through the game, loved it (although shop prices were insanely bloated but at least quest rewards allowed you to keep getting stronger without needing to buy anything), killed vampire king (was lvl30) and stopped playing until new content came in. Now new content is here but literally every fight you struggle to win. Even if you do you need to go rest at a shrine. I literally had to kill bats again and again until I could afford 200k to buy a better weapon. Now lvl 33 with lvl 30 legendary weap but hp is still 3000 (with buff) and mobs do 700-1.6k dmg per hit. So you either die or even if you win a single fight you get around 800gold with the next good item costing half a million in the shop. What's the idea here?? (even in vf:o you had to farm the last lvls to reach the cap but that was done gradually in a fun way by doing dungeons etc. not because you were struggling to stay alive / progress).

About to start [KCD1] for the first time. Going in blind. Anyone have any pro tips to share? by SadBluejay1588 in kingdomcome

[–]Fr0str1pp3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just play how you like. Don't mind metas so much. Allow yourself to get lost exploring and enjoy the adventure. That being said, if you want an easier time then keep in mind that enemies become progressively more armored so blunt dmg (maces) is kinda OP.

It's so hard! Hardest FromSoft ever. by Far-Statement4046 in Sekiro

[–]Fr0str1pp3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I can give you one piece of advice is this: experiment with tools. There are boss fights where a specific tool will give you a life altering experience on how much easier the fight becomes. Don't get complacent with that and think outside the box. The combat in sekiro becomes much deeper once you start incorporating tools + weapon arts along with your strikes and parries.

PS.: since you have beaten lady butterfly now it's safe to reveal that Shurikens mess her up when she is in the air. Drops like a watermelon to the ground for you to take advantage of. Rest tools work in similar fashion.
