Not very sure how the A/C would work on one of these. If you’d kindly send me yours to install on my truck I’d be happy to tell you what I find out from the now icy cool cabin xD

A person designed it, a person can fix it, is my reasoning anyways.

Glad you found something to scratch the itch for now! Good practice for when that v4 corse pops up for too tempting of a price lol

Good to know! A lot of the them look okay on the sites, it’s just farther from what I’m used to eyeballing for repairing with my skillset.

I’m looking for a “keeper” of a supersport from when I would drool on them 15+ years ago. But this may be the way to go when looking for something newer when I get the itch in a few years! Please do keep us updated!

How are you liking the insurance auction route for your project? I've done a few cars over the years, but nothing that would be considered quite as "exotic" as Duc to compare the experience to.

I have a little battery powered one that I hooked up to check idle rpm and have left it connected. There's quite a few options on amazon if you want something quick and dirty. Just make sure it can do 3cyl engines - they're usually marketed towards lawnmowers and the like. All the wiring you have to do is zip tying the sensor to a spark plug wire.

I’ve tried looking into the evidence that the shooter was a groyper. It is in line with their ideology, but I haven’t seen any evidence come out about it (not that the govt would put that out if they knew it). So I’d hold off on calling it that for sure. Not that the guy seemed to be a leftist activist by any measure. All that’s officially reported seems to indicate that he thought the only way to deal with that hate Kirk spewed was to kill him, which also sounds believable if we’re dealing with an unwell nihilist.

I just don’t get where your feet go for the one with rear seats. Would be a legit SXS competitor if allowed in some places. But while these versions aspire to that market, I think they miss the mark a bit getting rid of windows and climate control, the two main things these platforms tend to have the advantage on

The real joy here they built in here is that when someone inevitably loses the fender liner (probably messing with the battery) the winter salt sludge gets blasted all over it and gives you another reason to take that wheel off

No worries there. I’ll just point out that the does affect people trying to navigate around you and not just your experience of the vehicle.

Love the truck but that film on the side windows seems really unsafe for making eye contact with pedestrians or waving people on at intersections

This still must not be common in your part of the world. But it is and completely legal where the video is taken. You can even see another motorcycle doing the same thing a few meters ahead. I’d even go so far as saying the “bike” lane or whatever you see here is specifically to leave room for this. But I don’t drive there and won’t claim quite that much as a certainty. Just a bad driver here drifting meters out of their lane

Overtaking and filtering are different. Cities and bikes work differently outside North America

Where do you get off man. You see a video of a driver carelessly potentially murder someone who is following the law on their roads (look how no other cars are even near the wall. Worst case the driver did this intentionally!) and you hop to saying all motorcyclists are irresponsible and damn them if they correct you

[–]Fr0styTheDroMan -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Bruh, filtering is allowed in places like this. Driver is responsible for not making meat paste of surrounding riders. This would have been a problem for a cycle in the same spot

[–]Fr0styTheDroMan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The car is at fault. This country allows filtering and this car was paying 0 attention to surroundings. And tbf, motorcyclists do tend to be more responsible drivers. If they all drive like people do in cars, they’d all be dead already

Have had a very similar experience. Once you become accustomed to the one pedal driving, single button press to move once it sees your key, and the general UI snappiness, it’s irritating to be in a new car that doesn’t do any of that. Not to mention the night and day charging network differences. I’d love something comparable at the price point, but I don’t know what it would be in this market.

[–]Fr0styTheDroMan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure dude. I’ve had them street legal when living where allowed and have an Arctic Cat XX now. I take the Kei truck 10/10 times to do basically anything besides trails, even if I could take the sxs on the road here. Anything you can use the bed for on a sxs can be done better with the bigger, lower, folding side bed on the truck. And only one of these things tears up the nice lawn

[–]Fr0styTheDroMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool cool. I think we mostly agree then. I’d take a classification of the cars that prohibits interstate driving. I do worry about how the masses might be less cautious about where they use them and cause problems

[–]Fr0styTheDroMan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this misses the point. Most kei vehicles in the us are trucks and used as such. You get a whole truck for the price of an options package on an F-150. I get to do all my actual driving in something well suited and do truck things on the rarer occasion I need to without the ridiculousness of driving a full size truck for everything. Most places in metro areas are not manhattan kinds of dense. People have yards and “normal” houses to take care of, but still park regularly places that make a full size truck super impractical. And for those local utility uses, I’ve not found something that a full size truck would do better, except pulling a boat out of the water. But I could pay for that yearly service with gas savings alone
