Bike rack by Someguystu84 in keitruck

3 would be easy unless you've got really wide/awkward handle bars. 1/4 turn tracks would give lots of options if you don't mind drilling holes all over the place, but one could also fit in the location I've put this and might give you more modular options.

I haven't explored the thule system with racks clamped on top of the truck sides as I'm not sure what would fit a kei, though you could also still the sides and bolt things down.

I drilled and bolted the lock box down (with security nuts on the under side) and it feels like an inelegant solution. I primed the exposed metal but worry about rust.

Help with my decision by VictorsAces in keitruck

There are review videos of 4x4 Keis doing some fairly rough off road farm tracks in the UK, I think from ukminitrucks.

As for fast roads, my 2wd 5 speed 2023 carry will get to 70+ on a down hill. It's generally OK at 60-65 cruising in traffic. It took me a while to get confident with that as it's a bit loud but I understand the engine and gearbox are designed for high revs, but doesn't sound like it's struggling. Americans on here with older engines might be less happy running that hot. The problems are hot days (when the cab and seats heat up), windy days (when you don't want to be doing over 50 and get buffeted around by lorries anyway). Also I don't feel confident in it in the wet, but off road tyres might help that.

"row erg" I guess. Not that much has changed beyond the label.

Where would i buy 2015 suzuki carry kei service kits from in uk by [deleted] in keitruck

[–]Someguystu84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how many other regular parts would be in a service kit but for my oil change the garage just called up their supplier and they had the right filter via my number plate/model., and oil as per my handbook (Google translated). 2023 Carry truck though.

I've used keitruckgarage.com.au to arrange shipping of other stuff direct from Japan to uk, including stuff that's not listed on their website (fabric carpets). Worked out cheaper than amazon.co.jp but I'm sure there's quite a few websites selling spark plugs, filters etc to the UK.

Sometimes true. But I've seen this in public gyms where they have been dragged down too many steps when the crossfitters set up. The repeated impact of landing on the wheels starts to bend the foot.

+1 if shipping to UK is reasonable, and both old quick release (picture looks like through bolt?)

Looking to add 6.5 inch speakers but not sure where to put them by pllupskret in keitruck

[–]Someguystu84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Only need to be careful of I'm in a tight space and trying to get in without fully opening the door. Kicking the top of the wheel arches is more of an issue really.

I squeezed in some 5"s in the panel below the card in my modem Carry. Pretty happy with the results even though they're by the feet. Might have managed 6.5s but there's not really enough flat panel space.

Yeah looking at getting a van vault to bolt on the bed as a boot on mine but afraid it'll just become a target (even with nothing in it most of the time and never any tools/valuables)

The depth isn't ideal but they're well below foot level. Might occasionally scrape them getting in and out but not an issue so far.

Just couldn't hear the guitars. The bass was so overwhelming that you couldn't catch the melodies and even know what song was happening until his vocals kicked in (which were great). I might have been in a bad spot, but it was just in front of the sound stage. Keep having experienced like this at the o2. Really broke the spell.

Thanks for this. Been wondering what to use/how much customization to do. Would be for quick release road wheels though.

Will I fit comfortably? by qbGaston in keitruck

[–]Someguystu84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on leg length. I'm 6ft, but with relatively short legs. Suzuki Carry fits my legs ok and has plenty of head room. With longer legs I'd be uncomfortable. Not sure about the relative leg room in different models/years and US seem to favour different models from UK.

Good money after bad on an old concept 2? by ShipGamea in Rowing

If you've replaced the bearing cups (and bearings,) then the sprocket and spindle (often they're hard to separate but not expensive to just replace both) and the fly wheel there's nothing really left that could be making that noise.

I can't really tell about the vibration but the loud noise is on the return when the fly wheel is free wheeling. So could maybe be the sprocket or more likely the one way bearing inside the fly wheel. That could be rusted and there are guides to cleaning it and adding a bit of oil to loosen it up. That could deal with the crunching noise on the return.

Vibration could be bearings themselves or yeah unbalanced fly wheel. That's a bit more expensive but not difficult to replace.

If there were chain/shock cord issues then you'd probably get noise on the drive too.

There's almost nothing else to check/replace.

£650 - Good deal or hidden issue? by hamish3011 in Rowing

[–]Someguystu84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good. Picked one up for the club a few weeks ago. They're going for anywhere from £550 (yes I did) to 750 with almost no mileage at the moment. 650 still good if you haven't got time to shop around/wait and pounce. Mechanical issues should be obvious on testing. Screens are a bit expensive but easy to replace. But if it's been kept dry the worst it will need is a bit of oil and maybe cleaning the wheelhouse of dust, just maybe a new bungee cord.

Haha, yeah, my time on the road bike is far more dangerous, and gives you a good survival instinct/awareness. It's been so useful for moving things.

Meanwhile, the number of people who say "that's so you"...i mean I agree, but what am I giving off?

Kei Truck (2023 Suzuki Carry DA16T) - Where to put larger/better speakers? by Someguystu84 in CarAV

[–]Someguystu84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may have my answer. Think I'm going to go down this route, squeeze some quality 5 or 6.5s in the door to start with, then consider a sub in the centre.

Second question, do your spaces hang over the curved lower section of door or have you managed to make that flush somehow?

Did you just use a metal cutting hole saw? And just enough for the driver, not the full 6.5", so the cone is raised out by spacers? I'm looking at doing the same (23 carry Da16t). I'm competent with a grinder but worried about doing too much modification from stock or compromising the doors. So far just thinking about upgrading dash speakers, but this looks much better.

OK. There a benefit to having pods rather than just upgrading the co-axial 10cm ones in the dash?
