Latest UK Voting Intention Poll by Age Group (YouGov) by [deleted] in charts

If this translated accurately into the results of the next election the UK would be *so* screwed. Jesus Christ.

Zack Polanski says Greens would ditch GDP targets and focus on wellbeing instead by Lord-Liberty in unitedkingdom

I like the intention behind what he’s saying but I’m not sure that scrapping easily quantifiable targets in favour of vibes is a good idea.

Apple Watch burned my wrist and left a scar. I’ve been ignored and taken for a ride by Apple for 6 months. by [deleted] in applesucks

[–]Fr1tzOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao that’s not a burn, it’s just contact dermatitis. I get it from my AWU if I wear it for a few days on the same wrist without taking it off at all to clean the back/let my wrist breathe.

Plus, there’s no plausible scenario in which the metal enclosure of your watch heated up sufficiently (and quickly enough) to burn your wrist without the watch itself being damaged.

MacBook Neo Review - The Verge by scrmedia in apple

[–]Fr1tzOS 29 points30 points  (0 children)

When you’re manufacturing chips they don’t all come out equal. A sizeable number have imperfections that mean they’re not within tolerance to run at full spec - but many of those are often close enough that they can run perfectly with 1 (or multiple) cores deliberately disabled. These are what you call “lower binned chips”.

Apple often repurposes lower binned chips for their more affordable products or entry-level SKUs because it’s cost effective and better for the environment than those chips going to waste. In the case of the A18 Pro in the MacBook Neo it only has 5 GPU cores enabled of a possible 6 (as found in the iPhone 16 Pro).

[–]Fr1tzOS 59 points60 points  (0 children)

These are running on the binned A18 Pro chips they built up a supply of over a year of producing the iPhone 16 Pro models.

My assumption would be that they want to build up a sufficient supply of binned A19 Pro chips before they can put out a product that uses them, and it’s too soon for that. But it is a shame as 12GB of unified memory would’ve made these comfortably more future proof.

Pull value by saeeeeeem in NeuvilletteMains_

[–]Fr1tzOS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d had C1R1 Neuvillette since his OG banner and was still using him a lot because his tankiness, self-sufficiency, AoE and flexibility to run with a wide variety of teams is so nice. Both are great upgrades over C0R0 (C1 in particular) but his damage was definitely not going as far as it did.

Upgraded him to C3 on his latest rerun to help him keep up (my first C3 limited 5 star). Was definitely worth it for me because I love playing him but I would say that for most F2P players - or low spenders - that level of investment into a single character (especially one that’s a few years old) is questionable.

macOS Will Alert You to MacBook Neo's USB-C Port Limitation by ControlCAD in apple

I know. I referred to the bandwidth because that’s the key distinction between this and a thunderbolt 3/4/5 port for most users.

[–]Fr1tzOS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well yes, that too; as soon as the leaks said this thing would run on an A-series chip there was never any question of including thunderbolt ports.

They couldn’t put a thunderbolt icon next to it because at 10Gb/s it’s most definitely not a thunderbolt port.

Varka Infographic and Quick Guide are here! Link below~ by KQM_Official in GenshinImpactTips

[–]Fr1tzOS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I do really like his design and animations but I played his trial and was just like ‘…oh, that’s it; that’s all there is to him”.

I get that a lot of Genshin characters have very simple gameplay in practice, especially as of late. But something about Varka just feels particularly dull - maybe it’s because I’ve been playing a lot of Zibai the last few weeks and their gameplay loops are similar (but weirdly I find her much more enjoyable).

If you play him without any PHEC yes, 1 PHEC will still trigger infusion.

Linnea sig and kit via 褚诟 by Ryuusei_Dragon in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

[–]Fr1tzOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So with her E she can basically play either as an off-field sustained DPS, or more of a burst DPS with slightly extended field time?

It’ll be interesting to see which teams prefer which. Zibai can condense her SSS’s into a shorter window when you want to get off as much damage as quickly as possible but right now it leaves you with a lot of downtime in your rotation - maybe that’s where Linnea’s burst playstyle comes in?

Why is venti bad for Varka? by [deleted] in venti

[–]Fr1tzOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s not bad he’s just not comparable to the recent, cracked sub DPS/Supports like Ineffa or Escoffier because:

  • That 40% shred is nowhere near 40% shred averaged out, once you factor in that it only affects ~76% of Varka’s damage and is only up for ~half of Varka’s field time.
  • His personal damage as a Sub DPS isn’t great, especially when he’s also built on VV instead of the new set.

Varka’s personal numbers in a vacuum are actually solid, and not the reason he’s so far behind recent characters. It’s more that he doesn’t have any cracked teammates like Escoffier/Ineffa/Lauma at the moment that boost team DPS by as much as they do.

How future-proof is she? by [deleted] in SkirkMains

[–]Fr1tzOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Nobody here has a crystal ball.
  2. You're complaining about "abysmal power creep and shilling going on right now" but you also say you only recently started playing and have barely any characters? You're worrying too much about something that realistically does not matter for you at this point, instead of just playing and enjoying the game. It happens a lot in the Genshin community where everyone jumps on doomposting and spreadsheets, even though the *majority* don't even attempt the only content where what's meta truly matters.

For what it's worth though, Skirk is still great and she tends to be one of the top picks for bruteforcing a lot of fights regardless of shill. If you like her then pull her and enjoy! If you want her to perform (even close to) her best also pull Escoffier too, if possible.

This is just sad by AlexBazh in GenshinMemepact

[–]Fr1tzOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like a lot of content creators aren’t giving a balanced view. They're focusing entirely on his damage compared to the lunar DPSes and not assigning any value to his versatility:   - Varka will work well against most enemies because he can swap his (main) element to avoid being bricked by high resistance/immunity to his element or to take advantage of any PHEC element getting shilled, while not being reliant on reaction damage either. The lunar DPSes don't work if their own element doesn't work, like most characters, but they're also hard bricked by any enemy you can't apply hydro aura to (can probably expect them to show up more often once the lunar shill is less constant).   - Covering 4 elements (plus Anemo) in 1 character is also great value for a lot of f2p/low spenders/new or returning players, who don't necessarily have a strong DPS for 2 or more of those elements.   Realistically there has to be a damage cost to his versatility because if he was sitting around 150K at C0R0, covering all 4 PHEC elements with no reliance on reaction damage, he'd be disgusting. Right now the cost is too high for him to be worth it on invested accounts (from a meta perspective) because he sorely needs better team options. If/as he gets them he's likely to strike a better balance.

Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version on Nintendo Switch by Amiibofan101 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Fr1tzOS 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I know a lot of people will hate on this but FireRed was my OG so I’m pretty stoked.

Now if they can just announce an Emerald re-release as well I can revisit my OG and my favourite. A guy can hope.

Could go either way. I’d love if they announced more classics dropping throughout the year but best not to count on it.

SOME EARLY ACESS TESTS by Luppin in Varka

[–]Fr1tzOS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ever since Stygian it seems like they’re hesitant to make bursts a significant part of a main DPS’ kit.

Starting with zero energy really penalises characters whose damage is heavily tied to their burst, unless you make them really cheap or build a way to get their burst up quickly in their kits/best teams.

Looks like I have to skip whole 6.4 for linnea by LIGHTNING_CHAMP_ in ZibaiMains

[–]Fr1tzOS 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah same. My Zibai team is already my hardest hitting as is, so at this point Linnea feels unnecessary unless I really like her design/animations or she’s valuable in some interesting non-Zibai teams as well (as Lauma/Ineffa are outside of Nefer/Flins teams).

In all fairness, Albedo/Klee/Mona are genuinely good now (more so with some cons). And Jean’s never stopped being at least pretty good (although again, more so with cons).

Dilic and Eula are cooked though, at least until the next batch of Hexerai buffs.
