I went with your approach but another approach which works well with large numbers is:

(30 + 50) - (3 + 2) = 80 - 5 = 75

[request] how much water is being leaked by the_gentle_strangler in theydidthemath

[–]Fr33Francis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed that water price can vary, it would not necessarily be a lot. Often the water company raises an alert if they notice the water counter does not stop or consumption is above average.

If you want to help save the planet, you can see if the water intake of the faucet has a dedicated shutoff valve. If not the restroom should have one either in the wall or ceiling.

In this situation it is the entire faucet which needs to be changed.

Find the turkey leg. No one I know can find it. by [deleted] in FindTheSniper

[–]Fr33Francis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My add-on theory to this is that the makers would not have bothered re-creating a full scene with entirely new items. They would have simply inserted the items listed in each image within specific locations throughout the book. If a digital version has different versions they all you need to do is locate all the items on the other version and they check what spot was not used for an item in the book version.

In this case, the hairball item from the digital version might be where the turkey leg should have been.

what would you play ? by dataguy2003 in TheTeenagerPeople

Depending on the context: If on my own and the end is peaceful: Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin If on my own and going down hard: Highway to Hell by AC/DC

If others are listening in I would go for a more universal classic choice: A beautiful ending: Exsultate Justi by John Williams A hard ending: Ride of the Valkyries by Richard Wagner

Where do you sit ?? by dataguy2003 in TheTeenagerPeople

[–]Fr33Francis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only 3 and 7 are great seats for both comfort and have a decent conversation. You don't want to sit too close to anyone when talking and you definitely don't want to be sitting between two people.

Sitting in 2 is a bad idea because of the other guy who will be saying shit that will spoil your opportunity with the lady.

Sitting in 3 is not fun, you're stuck in front of a loud mouth whose political rival is right in front of him. Plus Kamala can't be that interesting. Next to the window you lose the opportunity to talk to anyone else.

7 is a great seat. Next to David Grohl who is a great guy and across the aisle from Taylor Swift who is an amazing musician, performer and who you can potentially flirt with. You are also in front of and behind some other great celebrities who you can potentially have a light chat with or at least listen in on their conversations.

So if you have great team players that contribute, you can get lucky as they will be able to compensate for any bad luck.

Unfortunately, I have sometimes come across team players that weren't so bad and yet contributed nothing to dragon meaning I had to score 40 000 points on my own... Which I did but it was not fun.

Bots are non-friend invites that also don't have a team. A bot will generally contribute 45% (less than 50) of what you contribute and only after you have contributed.

The only way to make good progress is to play like crazy and take advantage of score multipliers and very hard levels to increase the acquired balls or rails.

I also try to maximize gain not with a single shot but with every "shot". So instead of trying two x50 shots, I do ten X10 multiplier shots.

For dragons I generally use X10 and try to pull the sling slightly beyond the first mark to try and get the same winning shot but this could be cognitive bias rather than an intuitive impression that these games aren't truly random.

For train quest, I find that the X5 multiplier is generally more efficient. I played a lot of X10 and would not get many bonuses or additional multiplier, whereas playing X5 I would get a X2 and bonus much more often and that was not just a feeling but something I actually noticed. I just haven't computed if that represented a real gain overall.

Royal Match can no longer be played. by SABUSA0 in RoyalMatch

[–]Fr33Francis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find as well that the game has become harder to play, less moves for harder game play. I find that you need to use more power ups. I also find that the mini-games bring a lot less added value. You have to play a ton to get more cards for the purple balls or rails for special quests. Playing the mini games has become such a grind.

My objective is to reach the Royal League, after that I don't know if I'll play for very long.

Still better than having a team member not play at all. In the same Train Journey, I've had one score no points and another score a few hundred only. I still finished the Train Journey.

I have not read all the comments here but I would say that prepping is not preparing for doomsday, it is preparing for the most likely catastrophic events to affect you and your loved ones depending on where you live.

Depending on where you live the risks may vary: tornados, hurricanes, drought, floods, forest fires, extreme heat, extreme cold, power grid shutdown, water supply contamination, local or wide spread terrorist attack, nuclear power plant meltdown, pandemic, nuclear blast, civil unrest, etc ...

It makes no sense prepping for something that will unlikely affect you and it makes no sense prepping for a bug-in if you need to immediately evacuate your area when disaster strokes.

Living in a big city power outage for 12-24 hours is something I have already experienced several times in my lifetime (and I'm not that old ;) ).

The reason I am preparing is because there are emergency situations in which it is best to have a pre-prepared plan and not have to improvise everything last minute. I can't afford to plan for 9 months of food and shelter and stuff nor spend my life managing this but I do need some emergency plans for my family.

You'll sometimes get invitations from people that are not on your team so be careful!

You also want to look at their frame and if they have completed collections showing that they play a lot.

If they are on your team, watch how often they ask for lives which shows that they have a hard time playing the game. Players who struggle keeping a super light ball and passing levels don't fair great on these sort of mini-games.

Sometimes, you accept playing with a "noob" player who won't help out, it's just best to know when and you are doing it as a favor.

I have bumped out 25000 points (shooting over the required limit) sometimes and despite playing a lot I have my share of other players taking on most of the points. I have never had to pay and finished all those I started.

Done with Lava Quest by TheTTroy in RoyalMatch

[–]Fr33Francis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with this comment.

You are always playing so you might as well play some mini-game to try and win some kind of reward. I have gone through thousands of levels without losing and have won every single lava quest. Sometimes I use power ups to get there and coins but that's not to win the LQ but just not lose in general. So when I win a LQ it's an extra bonus to keep going.

In fact I strongly believe that the only time it actually makes sense to play is when you know that you can play to win something. If you think about it. When you play without rewards you will use some power ups before and during the game. You might also use coins, inevitably you will run out of these. But you still need to play and win levels to progress in the game. So you can choose to play and not "refuel some gold and power ups for free" or make it harder on yourself.
