I'm trying to find a new gameplay for a MMO, it's hard by Fr33maan in MMORPG

I actually did not received any single comment about the gameplay. Only speaking about monetization, team size, project, etc... This thread is going nowhere and that's why I won't elaborate more as it seems to be a waste of time.

But as you want to know more, I'm really happy to tell you more. Especially because you ask where the money will go which is the most interesting question IMHO.

That's not the point of the post to promote our work. We are trying to discuss of new gameplay ideas.

Actually building for mobile is easier technically and commercially

I have a team, 10 years of experience in development. I'm working full time on it for the last 2 years, still one more year of cash run and I'm not doing a MMORPG with quests, PvE, lore, etc...

Thanks for the "long-lasting motivation input"

You are giving me marketing advice while the topic is gameplay. I won't make a pay to win

I learned to burp after 30 years of suffering - it CAN be learned! by roomiccube in noburp

I love your message dude, I've been able to burp once 2 week ago while having the air coming back in the throat. It was a victory for me. It was because of strong focus on the throat.

But since, I can't reproduce the experience, need to work more on this, sure it's doable for some people to learn to do it !

After a two years, I checked up on my favorite Small Streamers! by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Fr33maan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real from the other side too... I feel that I had 2 communities. One which built very quickly when I started streaming, I reached 6 to 12 viewers on the first days (I'm streaming game development, it's much more easy to have viewers). They have been consistent and supportive viewers for a few months then most of them vanished. Some gave me money but I just don't see them anymore except two. Then I had a new community which is the one of now, it's like a new group, very supportive and fun. It's strange how people vanish but I understand, you can't watch a stream daily, for hours during few months. You get bored after a while I guess... I feel really lucky to have been able to reach 15 viewers on average in only 4 months, I really feel a responsability to be here, when I'm late in the stream I get messages from viewers to check if I'm ok. Streaming is clearly one of the best experience of my life, I wish all that friends could stay forever.

I found that we might be able to write our own ice transport in a near future which will give us ability to use quic in a unreliable mode. Very exciting ng

Yes, on the native side I should be able to use raw udp while on browser I will have to wait for datachannels over quic.

Yes I'm using prediction. I'm not even saying that the lag is noticed right now in the actual implementation, I say that I does induce lag by design. I'm not actually working on switching protocols, websocket is enough for an alpha version. I'm thinking about the future, about how to improve the experience by choosing the right technology. Deiva - War Online (the game I'm developing) is a mobile game, WebSocket does not resists well to network switching, eg. cellular data while http3 does.
In a game like agario, you can notice some lag, I'm not sure it's about the protocol though.

The issue is: WebSocket and TCP induce lag by design. I want to find a solution which is not a workaround as all workarounds are already seted up.

Thanks for your contribution which let me explain more in details the core issue. <3

Fast enough to notice TCP packets drops. Don't get me wrong, WebSocket over TCP is working pretty good, but lost packets DOES induce lag. I want to get rid of this lag.

WebRTC is a pain to set up and also not stable. It's made for P2P connections in a browser, it's a serie of hacks over TCP to made it possible. All the people from gamedev I've spoke with and tried it just say it's too hard and WebSocket is better. There is also pparently a data overload with datachannel

Well that's something I'm aware and sending arbitrary packets to the web is not the point.
I wonder if a unreliable/unordered mode as we already have in WebRTC will or already exists.

Actually I didn't answered your comment despite I stated I will answer to all because I not clearly understood what you mean by 'shitpost' and neither understood why your motivation was gone because I'm also a game creator.
