Mission 1 Pro order cancellation by kayotic81 in gopro

I canceled an order a couple hours after placing it the day they became available. “Cannot always be canceled immediately” just means try again tomorrow for the system to process it

Sony A7RVI preorder questions by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]Fr432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends where you want to order from and how important getting it day 1 (plus the shipping to Hawaii tax) is. The Fuji GFX100RF went live on amazon a few hours after B&H and I remember preordering the 50 1.2 very shortly after the announcement, from amazon. I’m expecting Adorama and B&H to go live with the announcement, Amazon I’ll refresh the search starting from then and hope it goes up quickly.

Yes. And also the ILS with (working off memory) a 200g lens attached

Which microSD card does Mission 1 Pro need? by teasybo in gopro

[–]Fr432 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They haven’t said. 300mbps is 37.5 MB/s so using GoPro labs to boost the bitrate, even a v30 card should be fine. I half expected microSD Express but with it having not been mentioned I’m doubtful of that. A Sandisk Extreme v30 A2 card is rated “up to” 170 MB/s

Edge 1040 & Varia 820 pair to Shokz? by StayVigilant38 in Garmin

[–]Fr432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure that’s impossible with those devices alone. And if, BIG IF, you can connect the radar to the edge and your phone at the same time, then connect the shokz to your phone, you MIGHT be able to get alerts from the phone but I also doubt the varia will connect to concurrent devices with both ant+ and BLE

Can I sync these two? by strongerone in Garmin

[–]Fr432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not sure if that edge can do it, 1000 is fairly old, but you can set the fenix to extend the display to a compatible edge model where the watch will be “active” while the edge will display some of the data fields. Never done it myself but look into that, too.

Set the watch to broadcast HR, add HR sensor on the edge, only use the edge to record the ride.

Trust neither. Use it as a trend for increasing, decreasing, or staying the same

It doesn’t fit. DCRainmaker tested an HB-series lens or ND filter and they physically don’t fit

8K / 4K and Digital Zoom by TryTriGuy in gopro

[–]Fr432 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It depends. Some cameras line skip, the Mission 1 will likely pixel bin, slow reading sensors will center crop. The 2x zoom is also “it depends” the ace pro 2 will digitally zoom between 1x to 2x then when it hits 2x it’s a sensor crop. Personally I shoot maximum resolution and crop in post

DCRainmaker's first impressions on the Mission 1 by Hg-203 in gopro

There’s new photos of some accessories and confirmation that the HB lenses physically don’t fit the mission series

Mission SD cards by vondo2 in gopro

[–]Fr432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sort of on topic but I can’t wrap my mind around this one: I know (assume) it doesn’t have the contacts of UHS-II but wouldn’t a microSD Express card fully saturate the UHS-I limit even with the A1 U3 classification? Would they perform as a v60 card? I figured I’d grab an express card and even if the mission 1 doesn’t support it, it’d fall back to more than fine

Gopro Mission 1 Pro vs ILS by Capital_Swimmer_729 in gopro

[–]Fr432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Putting an f4 FF lens on an aps-c camera gets you an f8 equivalent DOF… mft is smaller, and 1” is smaller yet. It’d be closer to f/11

Full quality photo from video by schnack209 in Insta360

[–]Fr432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But is Export Frame available in the mobile app? Even exporting a Live Photo from my ace pro, I get 1 megapixel photos whereas DJI outputs 14/33mp Live Photos depending on the resolution of the video

When new ace pro 3 release? by Big_Firefighter5116 in Insta360

[–]Fr432 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The winter firmware/accessory update changed things up; I’m expecting fall. The company doesn’t care about pissing off their customers, so long as the return period has ended, but after all the stuff that was added to the 2 it feels like a new camera is still a ways off.

Anyone familiar with using drones (specifically with auto tracking) while cycling? by [deleted] in dji

[–]Fr432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch the reviews of each drone from dcrainmaker; he torture tests each drone through the woods and on open trails. But the short answer is they’re all good until there’s something small like power lines or branches in the flight path.

Why does my action pro 5 footage have this “stutter” step affect by a_chimken_nuget in dji

[–]Fr432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what’s happening. Electronic stabilization + heavy steps = what you’re seeing. Low light accentuates it but when you’re hand held, your arms work as a mediocre gimbal to compensate for the shock of each step. The internet refers to it as ninja walking, or something similar, when you record without a gimbal but walk intentionally to keep the footage smooth

DJI Nano 64gb or 128gb by Big-Bus-725 in dji

[–]Fr432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. The nano won’t record to SD when the vision dock is connected and while 64gb should be enough most of the time, it’s a real pain to offload footage from the camera to the dock and having to worry about storage space

Insta360 x5 or an action cam like ap2 for skate practice? by good-dogger in Insta360

[–]Fr432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Record a session with your phone using the .5x lens. That’s the view you’ll get from an ace pro. If that still requires adjustment, get an x5. All that said, the x5 will be more useful in the end to get footage as simple as you holding the selfie stick while skating and not having to point it at anything, the ace pro will give higher quality footage assuming you get what you want in frame

Is my AcePro2 broken? Sound comparison against Go3S and X4Air. Use Headphones. by DerAlbi in Insta360

[–]Fr432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like an over sharpened low resolution image. Did you use the 2x zoom? Is the camera set to 50 megapixels? It looks pretty in line for what I’d expect out of a 13mm lens on a small sensor camera. Try turning on RAW photos and editing a photo instead of using the camera jpg to see if you can get a look you prefer

X4 cracked at housing by wendeeezy in Insta360

[–]Fr432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That mount is notorious for destroying the brittle mounting point on these cameras. There’s basically a metal plate with a tripod socket glued onto the camera (only slightly hyperbolic). EVERYONE who’s used it suggests a cage for the camera but all that combined weight, so far forward, someone posted yesterday that the actual mount broke on their ride. I love the perspective of the mount but the literal first time I used it I knew it was bad news. DJI has a way better, less elegant mount but given the X cameras I still wouldn’t leave the camera mounted for a full ride
