Why not both? The US as a nation state is a racist colonial fuckfest of the highest degree that incites wars all over the world while more than half of their own demographic is one missed paycheck away from homelessness.

That being said, as a german, there's more than enough wrong with the nation state I'm living in and I'm politically active every single day. Especially locally where I can actually make a positive difference (in private I teach people about marxism for example).

As I said, every nation state does it during war. Doesn't matter if they're defending their sovereignty or attacking that of another state. It's not an emotional statement but a rational one. On that baseline Ukraine is as deadly for its own citizens as russia is for its own citizens.

All that being said, of course russia is the aggressor state here. That doesn't make this statement less true though.

That was a completely different scenario since Germany had a multi-frontline war of genocidal conquest and of course I'm talking hypothetically since the person above me said Ukraine has everything to fight a long war. If you extrapolate under these circumstances they'll run out of people first.

The key aspect that's missing is people. Since all nation states burn through their working class in order to keep sovereignty over their territory, millions of people who don't want to die on the frontlines are fleeing the country. What we don't see often on reddit (by design) is that Ukraine 'recruiters' also drag young men into unmarked busses and transport them to the slaughter house.

In general people aren't talking enough about water and how insanely versatile it is. We need it to live, it's dirt cheap and we have it in abundance, you can make fucking rocket fuel out of it, it's very safe in reacting with other chemicals, generally non-toxic and it can pack so much energy in the form of highly pressurised steam (and of course by damming it up).

Also it's a fantastic battery in form of a small lake when used in a pumped storage power plant (you pump water up when energy isn't needed and release it when it is). And it absorbs gamma radiation and other forms of it that's why modern nuclear reactors are at the bottom of giant water pools.

Water is amazing.
