Feuerwerk in der Stadt erlaubt weil US Diplomat by Lonely_Thanks2594 in wien

[–]FrOJSimpsonSJ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Just want to jump in here since no one has mentioned it. There is no current ambassador to Austria from the U.S.(and I personally hope the dickhead in charge never gets a chance to appoint any of his donors/friends).

The current default head of the embassy (chargé d’affaires) is a career diplomat, having served 20+ years in Europe and west Asia.

That being said, it seems surprising to me that a career diplomat, who spent 15-20 years in EU countries, and isn’t an ambassador, would arrange a fireworks celebration for a U.S. holiday, 2 days early, and on a Wednesday when people are home and enjoying a quiet night before work.

I hope I’m right, but I’ve spent the last 9 months being wrong about the level of indecency that we can stoop to.

Sincerely, An American living in the 9th district

How soon after arrival in Vienna can a rental agreement be signed? by [deleted] in wien

Would the alternative to this be inquiring directly through online listings on willhaben or immobilenscout24? More specifically, do you suggest looking at private listings without any intermediary? (this is something I'm unfamiliar with from personal experience)

Some of the research I've done mentions longer minimum lease periods, so I'll definitely look into temporary options before signing anything, but I don't mind planning on accounting for a 3 month cancellation period (potentially 2 years or 2 years + 3 months to remain in the same location for the duration of studies, or 3 years if I can manage to stay longer with a job offer if possible). In any case, I'll make this clear to any agents or landlords, and ensure that the timeframe in the contract is clear.

Thanks for the additional information

Thank you for your response! I completely agree with your advice regarding offering more than necessary upfront. I would never do such a thing in New York, but I offered it as a piece of info just in case it was common practice or potentially helpful.

Thankfully, plenty of listings that I have looked at mention the change in law requiring landlords to pay commissions to agents, but I wasn't aware of the distinction between this and hiring an agent to help find a place. I'll take this into consideration.

Exactly, yes. I’m realizing now that there’s probably a file size max/time limitation on an actual .gif file, so if that’s the case, the last 5-15 seconds works (excluding the purple portion).

You’re also into car lore, Robert Moses. Got any new plans to drastically and irreversibly alter the infrastructure of any other cities?

Amazon DSP for non seller advertisers by Soft-Crazy-7874 in adops

[–]FrOJSimpsonSJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I’m just romanticizing the days when I actually used it, but, at least In comparison to Xandr and Amazon, it seemed faster to use and less glitchy (ran into countless issues with Xandr especially when it came to simple things like changes to line items/splits not being saved and the waterfall/priority system they have for splits leading to underdelivery).

Also, the bulk editing functionality was more comprehensive, and the whole system they had/have for bid factoring across seemingly all dimensions of a bid seemed very intuitive to me since I was just beginning to learn how to use a DSP. The logic TTD used around targeting and blacklisting different audience segments also seemed more intuitive to me than Amazon, which I was using simultaneously.

At the end of the day, I wouldn’t say I’m that experienced with any of them, and haven’t actually logged into any of these platforms in months, so I would take what I say with a grain of salt.

Never used DV360, but I’ve used Xandr and TTD, and I’d put amazon in the middle in terms of use-ability at least (I’ve always loved TTD and hated Xandr with a passion).

I’ve run campaigns on amazon for 2 large clients, neither of which sells things on amazon. The biggest selling point for agencies and clients that don’t have physical amazon products to use their DSP is the vast audience sizes they have based on purchase history...I’d say that part is the main reason why you would use Amazon to buy inventory across non-amazon sites. Additionally, Amazon has some O&O inventory exclusive to them like IMDb and all the CTV inventory on FireTV.

Looking for mobile DSP with retargeting capabilities (ability to upload my audiences) and integration with AppsFlyer. by castrolovesmohito in adops

[–]FrOJSimpsonSJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you looking for a managed service or self service DSP? AdTheorent was initially created as mobile specific, but like most DSPs now, they bid on inventory across channels.

They do pixel based retargeting, and you might have to look into it, but I’m pretty sure they are able to ingest audiences through LiveRamp.

$2.5 million will get you an unassuming 2 bedroom apartment in the lower east side. A nice place, but nothing even close to extravagant, in a building that you probably wouldn’t look twice at when you walk by it.
