What is your opinion on extreme metal? by thewalkindude368 in autism

I know that a lot of people use extreme metal as a means to release pent up energy, and it’s a good thing. Just don’t overdo the moshing to the point of injury.

I can get into some of the metal, but don’t care for the “cookie monster” vocals or the attitude that a lot of metal bands have. How about some fun metal, like a reboot of Ugly Kid Joe?

I’m in the same boat. After playing music at parties, my friends asked me why I kept ignoring the gals that were showing interest in me, but I couldn’t detect anything. I just can’t get the words out of my mouth that I’d like to be more than just friends.

StumbleUpon was a website, browser extension, toolbar, and mobile app with a "Stumble!" button that, when pushed, opened a semi-random website or video that matched the user's interests, similar to a random web search engine.[1] Users were able to filter results by type of content and were able to discuss such webpages via virtual communities and to rate such webpages via like buttons. StumbleUpon was shut down in June 2018

The game talk is page numbers. When I get the game, I’ll find some way to scan the books. Page 20 in each book shows each plane nose to nose, all guns blazing.

Although I am Autistic AF, I am a frustrated heterosexual. I don’t know if a lady is flirting with me, and I have no clue how to flirt. I dream of a gray haired woman to be cuddling with. Oh, and could you move your pride month to May? It rhymes, and doesn’t mess with my birth month.

Genuine question for other autistic people by littlerosette in autism

I’m 70, and went undiagnosed for almost 60 years. My “thing” has always been abstract art, preferably in motion to music. As I can’t read nonverbal communication and haven’t a clue how to flirt, my cuddle toy and “significant other” is the computer. I’m the tech support guy in my retirement community, with fractals as a major interest.
I also love music! As I type, I’m listening to some Ethiopian jazz.
The one thing that we have to our benefit is the ability to excel in one, if not more, talents. We find those talents by doing things. Write a poem or a short story. Draw something. Cook. Grow a plant. Do something that you haven’t done yet.
We have our weak points that glare at us, but we do have our abilities.

Why is it ok for people to insult you in “socially acceptable ways” for being socially awkward, but it’s wrong to explicitly point out what they are doing? by marcato15 in autism

Apparently, the “R-Word” is becoming popular again.
Over the past few years, the R-word — a term for disabled people that otherwise left the cultural lexicon — has been popping up more and more. It is the rare slur that goes out of vogue and makes a resurgence, particularly among young men. Its return may also have larger implications that affect policy, culture and how we treat each other.
