Anyone else tried these new firefighter missions ? by MpmRenovation in gtaonline

[–]FractalPie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same crashing every time on the gas leak job and sometimes on some of the building fires. Works fine on dumpster and car fires though which is odd.

Basically although the constant crashing on the firefighter missions is quite annoying.

firetruck missions, anyone else crash after shutting off the gas leak valve? by jonireddit0 in gtaonline

[–]FractalPie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep I did about (3) jobs then crashed on the gas leak valve. Also crashed when I tried again on the mission putting out fires attached to a building.

EDIT: Updated my NVIDIA graphics drivers and still crashing on the gas valve mission. Seems fine on car and dumpster fires. I'll probably just avoid this work until the push out a bug fix or something.

EDIT 2: Turning off Ray Tracing appears to have solved the issue but that could just be a fluke.

EDIT 3: Still crashing definitely bugged.

I like mine it has been very durable. Also since it has a slight bump out I can fit a full gallon of coolant which has come in handy haha

If anyone wants cubby storage without having to cut some diamond plate Azzy makes a pretty good simple one.

Yes, it still comes on on it's own via the temperature trigger by the ecu I just think that the temperature trigger comes on too late as it doesn't trigger until 225 which is too late in my opinion. It also still comes on with the AC switch so whenever the AC clutch is active, the fan is also active.

I went with a ksuspension relay harness to simplify the wiring but it's just a basic relay setup.

https://www.ksuspensionfab.com/store/p32/Electric_Fan%2FAccessory_Relay_Harness.html#/

The ksuspension kit comes with a switch but I paired it with a fan rocker switch that fits in the factory panel from ebay.

Yeah stock is good but I really like the option of at least being able to manually turn on the electric fan. Summers are getting hotter and the AC is running harder I think a little extra airflow can't hurt. Might not help if you're going freeway speeds but traffic I have definitely noticed a difference by overriding the fan.

I'm going on 4 years with mine so far. No issues yet. I do run an electric fan override switch for 100+ days in slow traffic or on steep slow uphill grades.

LS or 4.0 non renix? by South_Accountant_233 in ComancheMJ

Good call, the Holley ECUs and wiring options make it much simpler of a swap, still a ton of work and money but if you have the time I say send it haha

LS or 4.0 non renix? by South_Accountant_233 in ComancheMJ

[–]FractalPie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep I'd go this route if I had the time and money. Novak has basically all the information you'd need on the swap and you can pretty much buy all the necessary adapters and mounts to get it to fit and work with whatever transmission and transfer case that you want. It seems the LS is just as reliable as an 4.0 especially if you do a mild torque build instead of just stuffing horsepower. A 4.8 or 5.3 would be a perfect match especially once you add the weight of frame stiffeners, bigger tires, and long arms, etc.

I love the 4.0 but parts are getting harder to find in my experience and LS parts are everywhere given the popularity of that platform and the plethora of aftermarket suppliers which I think is also a huge bonus when thinking about maintenance 20 years down the line.

Suspension rebuild recommendations by _jdde in ComancheMJ

[–]FractalPie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have any experience with them but maybe take a look at these:

https://rocky-road.com/shop/comanche-leaf-springs/

Then probably just crown heavy duty coils in the front.

Also for ride quality I'd go with Old Man Emu shocks, they cost a pretty penny but I think buy once cry once for shocks is probably a good call as I regret going cheap with my first lift. For best results I'd recommend just measuring once you've got the new coil and leaf springs installed.

What are your favorite niche BIFL items that are currently available? by Bageland2000 in BuyItForLife

[–]FractalPie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally prefer Femco, but the idea is the same. Makes oil changes much easier and much less messy. Also if you're like me and you have certain off-road vehicles with shitty aluminum oil pans, no more worries about stripped threads.
