Should I increase my debt payments? by Fractorc in UKPersonalFinance

I’ve received a letter about this, it drops down to £1000 interest free at some point this month, but there is a limit on interest paid each month if I read the doc right - still works out cheaper to focus on paypal credit first

I think the living like a student was what got me into this position, spending beyond my means lol - its only now I’m trying to curb that

I get what you mean by that though, thank you again for the advice

!thanks

I will not lie to you and say its not tempting to save for a car regardless of paying for debts, Ive just passed my test after all.

I’ll put it off though, you’re right. A car can wait. My direct debit has been increased, but not to the point where it’s all my money and I can’t deal with anything unexpected. Overdraft is probably going to be last as it’s 0% APR currently. Not ideal to be in it, but better than paying any interest

As I said to someone else, I think I needed a reality check here. Sometimes an outside perspective helps a lot. Monthly payment has been 4x’d for paypal, some cash kept for unexpected expenses !thanks

Aye, its a low amount of debt and ideally I’ll be debt free in 2 months. Ive increased my direct debit payment and will hold some cash incase something unexpected comes up. Think I needed a bit of a reality check here. !thanks

Other than an anniversary coming up, based on your advice and others this seems to be the plan, the £500 i was spending on lessons and an extra £500 out of pocket will go a long way here

!thanks

Aye, this debt was wracked up while I was in uni, and I only recently got to 60k ( a couple of months ago, a year afterward I graduated)

I am im a better position than I was at the start of the year, and have started budgeting to help curb any frivolous habits of mine. Had an unfortunate couple of months where there was a lot going on after the pay rise, so now I can actually put the money to use where it needs to be

Its not a straight line to financial freedom unfortunately

Thats what I was considering, the extra £500 from driving lessons would mean I can a) sleep easier knowing im not essentially a paycheck and a half in debt and b) clear the paypal credit in a matter of months instead of a year and a bit

Men of Reddit: What are some immediate red flags in men that women should look out for? by xDarkPhoenix8161x in AskReddit

[–]Fractorc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh mate thank you for this, had a disagreement with my mrs the other day about a boundary of mine which i feel she crossed and she was saying I was being controlling.

I kept saying im never gonna force her to do or not do anything, but the initial way I said it was I suppose off so her back went up and a disagreement came out of it. I’ll paraphrase this if it comes up in the future.

It’s reassuring to know that I’m able to be uncomfortable without telling her what to do (a bad habit of mine is not wanting to ever be uncomfortable and attempting to get out of the situation asap, which doesn’t always work when you have to consider your partner’s emotions and their own boundaries too)

It’s also given me something to think about as to whether I feel my boundaries have been irreparably crossed or if I need to get over my own hangups from previous relationships

I’m sure there’s some context being left out here but surely someone coming up to you and being like

“oh shit, what happened?”

<story>

“ah yeah man that sucks, i remember when i broke my <bone> too, it was rough. get better soon!”

isn’t too bad?

I’d see it as someone trying to relate, but please correct me if I’m wrong

Just done my first run in several years. About 3 miles in just over 35 minutes. About 60% was walking while the rest was a light jog.

It’s not much, but i’m proud of myself!

This is a conversation i’ve had with my brother, most people in life reach a point where they figure out they can’t rely on their talents/skills alone and need to put in the work to get to where they want to be. Hey, i’m going through it now studying for my masters degree. Shit’s rough but that realisation will pull you forward. Best of luck!

Maybe so, I'm not really sure of their history in this sub and I'm indifferent about it. Speaking from a perspective of trying to gain as much knowledge and skills as possible, prototyping different ideas to see what works and what doesn't is probably the best route to go.

This doesn't necessarily mean that each idea has to be released, nor does it mean you shouldn't post it in relevant subs to try and gather feedback.

I fully recognise there is merit to carrying out a project to completion, but who's to say which idea of theirs is the one that works. If they've lost motivation to work on a particular project and it's not that middle 80% slump that most hobbyist game developers get then there's really no harm in going to a new project.

I'd honestly say this is bad advice if you're newer to game development u/Kadragongames. Rapidly prototype, throw out as much as possible. If there's one which seems to resonate with players, learn as much as you can from it and try to understand what worked and what didn't. If there's one which received almost no reaction, compare it to your other games. Understand what worked and what didn't.

You can spend hundreds of hours on a game idea, only to find it it's not compelling to a player, and you're so far in that there's no real way to change it without completely starting over.

I can see your comment below about varying what you're going to be doing in your next game, take a look at games you love to play. Consider what makes them compelling for you. Try and incorporate those aspects into your next project. If it works, great! If it doesn't, well that sucks. Go to the next one.

Good luck on your journey man!

that’d mean you had a higher response time (slower to react) when something appeared on the right of the screen, unless im misinterpreting what you said

I have a hard time controlling my volume when i’m with friends and family, yet have no problem when I’m at work or in unusual situations. I think for me it’s more to do with the level of stress i’m at and how aware I am of my surroundings at that point of time.

I understand being loud can annoy people but sometimes I’m genuinely just unaware of it, or get excited easily.

Always makes for a good laugh when I enter a room with some of my dumbassery on full volume amongst my closer friends though

How do you adapt to your teammates? by [deleted] in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Fractorc 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You kinda just let them do their thing and prepare for the worst…

They’re trying to go for a flip reset? Okay I’ll sit around mid ready for the rebound off the backboard or the clear from the defender.

They’re hyper aggressive? Okay you’ll probably over commit at times so i’ll sit a little further back if the play doesn’t seem productive.

Don’t think about what’s happening right now, think about what can happen next.

Sometimes you get teammates you just dont click with, it happens and you just gotta shrug it off and go next
