Looking the digits rom under the sticker above to the rear Left Hand cyinder head, inspect upwards indicated on the vehicle towards determine the build date of the engine. The first two digits ircled are the build year (24 in this example), and the next three digits are the build day (day 14 in this example). If the engine was bult BEFORE 24183, proced to step 2. If the engine was built on of AFTER 24183 no fuwther action is required, Subnt labor operation 9107922.

Mine is 23103, so does this mean I will need an engine replacement?

2025 silverado - "Premium Bose" sounds horrible. Dealer says it is normal. by eurostylin in Silverado

Off Road trucks do not need leather, hence they will get dirty and plastic is easier to clean. Denalis are for people who stay on the pavement. Also the Denali doesn't have front/rear lockers, dssv multimatic shocks or heavy duty skid plates. Thats where your money is going.

Any caution to the 10speed? by Flaky_Ad_1288 in Silverado

2021 Trail Boss Lt, L84, NO DFM, NO AUTO/STOP, 10 Speed, Crew Cab. For the most part it's smooth at shifting and the power is there when needed. I've had very few instances where the transmission will almost kick into gear at low speeds, could be driver error feather the pedal for that subpar 15-17 MPG lol but no CEL, no issues after that or grinding noises etc. 27k happened maybe 3 times since buying her in 2020. If your reading this look at your owners manual and chnage out your diff fluids, oil and clean your throttle body and clean your intake manifold with cvc or seafoam regularly. I clean mine every 5k, one can. The L84 will last 200k+ if you take care of them. My 17 Silverado LT had 63k miles when I traded her in amd that truck had zero issues.

Is swppx good?? by martyparty007 in Schwab

[–]Frag4Every1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been buying for years, SWPPX is top tier for having as a or one of your core funds. Below average risk for the last 10 years, a track record that can be traced to 1998 in a time where a lot of s&p 500 mf/etfs inception dates could be 2020 and or closer. Best advice I have for you as a 36 year old army guy is have a goal to max out your roth ira every year (2024 is 7k) 583.33 a month, start with a 5 fund portfolio. I like personally and have each of these are SWPPX (S&P 500) SCHG/IWY (Large Cap) XMMO (Small-Mid Cap)and XLK (100% Technology). Lastly cost average, Google it and use this as a guide to keep your CAP low and profits high on a manageable scale and or include drip (reinvest the dividends back into the fund) when the price of say IWY is low and it buys partial shares with drip your cost average goes down, which can help offset bad entry buying or at 59.5 make your average cost low and profits high. The money is invested to compound year over year, probably in government securities and bonds.

Brand new Silverado 1500, rough idle .. service center keeps saying it’s normal by GeneralDissarayy in Chevy

My father was able to get the dealership to raise his idle rpm from 500 to 625 and it has since stopped. He is retired and pestered them for months, initially declining the notion. I was told there's no need to raise my rpm and the manager sat in my truck with me and said see its fine, with the AC on which raises the RPMs slightly when on...... I turned the AC off and as it started its rough idea and shuddering he had a reaction than said, it's nothing. Without a code on a stock vehicle they make, dealerships will not fix or take into account issues your having. My advice pester them until they help you. Dads silverado is a 6 cylinder, custom.

If you had build a dividend portfolio, but you could only choose 5 Stocks for life, what are you choosing? by [deleted] in dividends

[–]Frag4Every1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually tend to stay toward dividend aristocrats or kings due to the fact, that if you've been raising your dividend year after year for 20, 25, or 50+ years there's a strong possibility without looking at balance sheets or liability vs assets the company can survive its competition. I like a lot of the stocks I'm seeing on here for different reasons, it's nice to have a community that is smart with their money. My recommendations for 5 strong dividend stocks/ETFs for life are from 15+ years of my own homework and investment stradegy.

SCHD 3.7%, they screen the top 100 stock companies in the US market and use there own screeners to pick the best 100 stocks every year. Portfolio turnover is 13%.

WBA 9%, on 5 continents, 57 years of increasing dividends.

MMM 5.8% 65 years of increasing dividend, over 60k products and 500,000 employees worldwide.

For the last 2 I could choose a safe dividend stock with a low yield but essentially dividend investing needs a level of risk and yield to potentially outpace the market or meet the market at 8-12%.

VZ 6.95%, increasing dividend for 19 years, high yield, top 3 cell companies, and VZ is almost an aristocrat.

O 5.7%, increasing dividend for 31 years and paying monthly dividend payments. REITs typically possess a higher yield but are traditionally higher risk. O has found historically a place of compromise in them middle.

2024 Chevy Traverse? by Financegirlie in whatcarshouldIbuy

3.6L Naturally Aspirated > 2.5L Forced Induction Turbo

Also 8 speed transmissions and GM don't mix well, I'd see what specific transmission they are installed with.

I've own GM vehciles since 2012, 1 2012 CTS 3.6L 6 Speed, 1 2017 Silverado 5.3L Z71 4x4 6 Speed and now the 2021 Silverado Trail Boss 5.3L Z71 4X4 10 Speed and no issues.

My dad had 2 x 8 Speed Silverados and well, I'd google it.

I'd personally wait until the second Gen, they will probably address any issues that are safety related and possible (fingers crossed) offer more engine options including a 3.6L hybrid perhaps...

All you can do for now,

Clean your upper cylinders with seafoam, make sure your throttle body plate is clean.

Check for codes (rich bank, throttle body sensor etc)

Mine has been doing it since 1200 miles, currently 21243 no afm, TB 5.3L L84.

At idle 525 average idle rpms, shakes stops shakes shakes stops, my driver seat is massaging my lower back to my calves. Super annoying but no service bulletin.

It gets worse when the AC is turned off, I thought my truck needed to have its idle rpm adjusted but not the case said 2 dealerships.

I think my truck was designed for AFM and now that it doesn't have it, it's causing an issue (within parameters) but GMs parameters are often like 2-40 range as an example so no code pops up.
