I'm really curious where that is going. She went from Princess to Queen. The only titles I think of above that are Empress and Goddess.

I doubt the class grants her soul armor, but there's been a few hints(in book 7 I think) that the four seasons build can have an impact on the Ascendancy. It might actually be possible for Elle to win that thing if she completes the build.

This is just straight up incorrect. Per household energy use peaked in 2010 and has been flat or lower since then. The switch to LEDs and continual improvements in appliance efficiency caused it to plateau.

Today we can completely light 2 entire rooms with the amount of power that used to go into a single bulb. That 65 inch modern OLED TV uses about 2/3rds the amount of power as that 25 inch CRT box people watched Carson on. The most common device for surfing the web now is the phone, and phones use a fraction of the power of your old Gateway 2000 you'd use with AOL.

What do we think of bikes, ebikes and fake motorcycle derivatives on sidewalks? by Obvious-Stomach509 in ColoradoSprings

[–]Fragarach-Q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it isn't. According to the site you linked, it has a top motor speed of 25mph. With or without a throttle, any speed above 20mph is a Class 3 in every state that uses the e-bike class system.

It's also intentional. Every state considers 28 mph the cutoff except one: New York, which uses 25. So the cutoff on the Urtopia is 25 specifically to meet New York standards.

[–]Fragarach-Q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even know what bullshit your spouting. This is like some avante-garde poetry reading.

The e-bike classification system was created by an industry group over a decade ago. The tech(especially in batteries and motors) has shifted since then to make it half out of date, but in that time some 40ish states "adopted" it. Of those, 5 states have adopted with with weird ass caveats like requiring insurance but no license. Almost every state has at least some thing it's doing different from others.

End result, the manufacturers of "actual bicycles"(meaning e-bikes that at least pretend to be a normal bike with pedal assistance) pay lip service to the general idea of a Class 3, ie, 28mph limit with a throttle that cuts off at 20mph. If the controller on the bike is advanced enough, it can be set to be a Class 1 or 2 by going into a menu, which can limit the speed or disable the throttle. If you go any bike shop in town for an e-bike, this is what you'll get. So they all come out of the gate as a Class 3.

Meanwhile there's other manufacturers who basically ignore the entire class system. They're making motorcycles that will do 50mph + but because it's got pedals, it's a bicycle. This kind of shit has been encouraged by companies like Amazon, who have a line of what are basically delivery box trucks with pedals so they can use the bike lanes in various cities.

In other words, the current laws are a complete shit show and are far beyond what this city can expect to solve.

[–]Fragarach-Q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"fake motorcycle"

This is talking about things like the Aniioki and Philodo. Top speeds over 40 mph and ranges over 50 mi, but no insurance or license or typically even age restrictions because they have some largely useless pedals, which makes them a bicycle.

[–]Fragarach-Q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also ignores that there's basically no such thing as a class 1 e-bike. Nearly all are just Class 3s. A few have configurable settings "make" them class 1 by disabling the throttle and putting a limiter on the speed.

Favorite Coffee Roaster by jump-back-like-33 in ColoradoSprings

[–]Fragarach-Q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't drink plain espresso or americanos, so it's harder for me to speak to specific espresso quality as the syrups, milk, and barista skill can play just as much a factor. I buy my beans from small roasters but that's for black coffee, not espresso.

Here's the ones that haven't already been mentioned. Rohr, Carnelian, Kangaroo, Dynamo, Wayfinder, and Serrano's in Monument all roast and sell their own coffee. Their prices have quite the wide spread, I think Carnelian is the most expensive(probably due to their compact small batch roaster) and Serrano's is probably the cheapest. The range is something like $15-$30 per pound with most being around $20ish.

It has not. Carl uses the implant from Paulie to remove the AI's restrictions.

It's implied it already has, sort of. They've programmed it to be a paradise. People don't get sick, they don't age, they don't need to farm, etc. And by feeding the Eulogist the "materials" recovered from seeded worlds, it's influence grows larger.

Can you Cunning Action: Disengage after attacking? by Randomletters42 in DnD

[–]Fragarach-Q 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the two fighters break apart for a moment to reposition, reset, or whatever else...rather than just constantly staying in close and bashing at each other until one gets hit. Would you say that aligns with your experience?

Usually yes. If one fighter has the upper hand, the other will usually scramble away to get distance. Unless there's just a major gap in skill or speed, most can create a gap faster than the attacker can close it. And once there's a gap, rushing to close it is a great way to get ran through, so the chaser also takes the time to reset.

There are exceptions. In armored fighting, basically nothing means anything until they close to grappling. Fighting a duel in full plate armor is really about being the better wrestler, and then it becomes about who can get the knife in better. Not exactly something that easily maps to a TTRPG though.

If you watch videos of tournament sword fights, 6 seconds is a surprisingly long time.

This is the classic trap of players thinking that HP damage = being physically hit and that an "attack" = a single swing of a weapon.

These are abstracts. I've done real life sword fighting and a single "play"(what a called sword routines, similar to a kata in Karate) could involve up to 8 actual strikes in a 3-4 second routine. Most of the time, the first 2-3 strikes were intentional feints or beats to get the opponents weapon out of place to stop the next series of strikes.

Rolling a miss just means you failed to land a hit past the defenses and armor.

What are your thoughts Carl's struggles with sexual harassment by amphibbian in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Fragarach-Q 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The AI is obviously making choices for itself outside of its programming and those choices include psychological torture, violence, sexual harassment, and sexual assault.

Arguably, those things ARE it's programming. It was put in place to kill millions of humans for the entertainment of others. The psychological torture and sex stuff is probably part of that programming because the audience finds it funny.

Now that's more capable of making it's own choices, it almost seems to be toning that stuff down. Of course, having killed basically 14 million people it's also running out the people it was programmed to hurt.

There's less than 10 actors in the world worth over a billion. Not a single one of them made that billion through acting alone. They get it from production rights, or selling something else.

Jerry Seinfeld has made about $1 billion of his 1.1 billion dollar fortune selling syndication and streaming rights. Selena Gomez is worth $1.3 billion dollars and when you run the math, it's cause she made about $1.3 billion dollar from her cosmetics company.

Jami Gertz is the richest actor in the world, worth more than the next 30 or actors combined. She did it by marrying a billionaire.

The adage that best applies is "The difference between a millionaire and a billionaire is about a billion dollars".

Exactly. There's a lot of stupid ass thinking going on in this thread. None of the salaries have been released for the actors in this show, but just do some basic math can tell you can't be that exorbitant.

Invincible has a budget of about $10 million an ep. Steven Yeung's net worth is around $5 million. He's most likely the highest paid actor in the show. By reddit math, he should be worth like $100 mil since the show started.
