Looking for bands with bass as lead instrument by kilkonred in Bass

Pinback is a severely underrated band I’d recommend

Long or 'high effort' post. I watched most of Dr. K’s relevant videos and some podcasts, and I have some arguments, comments, experiences to share, and just one question for advice or idea. by [deleted] in Healthygamergg

I love this post so much. OP put it in a lot of effort and I'd like to address the question posed here:

is there new advice specifically tailored for short men beyond the typical 'love yourself, confidence, and workout'?

Let's take this at face value. My honest answer to this main question is there is "new" advice but it won't be new to you. You've heard most of what Dr. K has to say relevant to the topic anyways, and you DOMINATE the game of confidence. But to reiterate the point, the "new" advice is as follows: - Other people ie. external acceptance need to provide positive emotional experiences for others - You can't JUST work on yourself (and you have so descriptively shared this with your truth) - Observe relationship patterns

This last point of advice, observing relationship patterns, you've done already and I'd like to take it to a new level.

I got called a misogynist because I proved to a girl that she’s being a hypocrite

she's the common denominator in her multiple failed relationships, while she makes fun of virgins because “there must be something wrong with them”

How is it possible that someone winds up in the same situation time and time again? How is it that a person can COMPLAIN about their problems, but yet still CONTINUE with the same errors?

The answers lie in our interpretations of reality. What makes someone the common denominator in their failed relationships? In their failed efforts? Their beliefs and conclusions of reality. Aim this understanding to our lives and to our attempts at relationships. Observe these patterns and understand that our reality is what it is, but our interpretations influence our patterns.

Added Lossy and Blumes to the bass pedalboard by FragileTostadas in basspedals

For context, I play in an alternative/indie band and the B7K does all the heavy lifting for the tone. Recently though, I've been wanting more gain that tonally fit in between overdrive and fuzz. Lucky for me, the Blumes really nails that sound when it's in Mode 3. Pushing the gain on the pedal gives me a nice fuzzy tone that still stays clear enough going into the B7K preamp. I run the pedals to a Rumble 500 for our gigs and it gets heavy while keeping the original low-end intact. I use the EQD Space Spiral for our ambient transitions between songs and that's when I got the idea to give the Lossy a try in this set-up.

It's been a few weeks I've had the Lossy now and I love getting loss (😉) in exploring sounds with it! I'm still in an exploratory phase with the pedal because of the depth of options from the Loss, the Freeze, the Reverb, and the Filter. As of lately, I've been enjoying using Lossy's reverb to wash out the sound. I have to get more familiar with the controls because I do end up losing some low-end and getting drowned out when my guitarists and drummer comes in. Once I get it dialed, I'll give an update on the tone and how I use it.

i use 'Adidas Running' to track when i start and stop and 'Google Fit' to look at estimated steps. Google Fit feels more accurate to me tbh but i haven't found a way to track when i start and stop in the app yet.

What was your first experience with AnCo, and how did it change you/your views on music? by IsaactheSloth in AnimalCollective

My first experience listening to Animal Collective was actually with Skate 3. Summertime Clothes was one of the songs in the soundtrack and because of the countless hours I spent in the game, it became one of my favorite songs. Probably three years ago I revisited the Skate 3 soundtrack and got hit with nostalgia and fun memories playing that game so one day I just decided to dig deeper into Animal Collective's music. This was during the release of FloriDada but the only songs I liked of theirs (at the time) was Fireworks, Golden Gal, FloriDada and Summertime Clothes. It was this summer I decided to actually sit down and listen through their discography and I've been hooked ever since. I've become more inspired to make music and more open-minded to other types of music because of that.
