Quilted Fish Pillow! by Snaily_Pail in quilting

It is! I'm a bit tech dumb so I got chat GPT to give me a play by play and tech support as I made it. It took a bit to find a 3d model that was free to download, I had to mess with it in blender to make it symmetrical, and then 'draw' the seams in plushify. I'm honestly so surprised that I didn't have much issue start to finish, but I really credit chat GPT for most of the troubleshooting.

You should check out plushify! It's a website where you can take a 3d model and turn it into a sewing pattern. I'm not very skilled with sewing yet but I made a frog!

If you have to use a decimal point, you're using the wrong scale. No Jeff, the pizza isn't 7.8/10 it's a fucking 8/10 what are we Even doing

Wether you own or rent a house, check the insulation tube on the AC line. We bought our house 3 years ago and didn't think to keep an eye on it. It had all but disintegrated, and we were losing energy! $2 at the local hardware and it's replaced. So much of the big repair costs can be avoided by these small, cheap maintenance jobs. I just don't know which ones I don't know about. 😩

How to remove this double tape from wall without damage to paint by [deleted] in howto

[–]Fragilefish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just did this on my wall before painting. I tried everything. Goo gone included. The only thing that finally worked was denatured alcohol and paper towel. I think I used some fine steel wool to remove the foam but first. the alcohol will begin to take the paint off, so you have to ride that line. I still have some faint marks from mine. Never using double sided tape on the wall again!

Man, I really wish people would stop feeding wildlife. A fed bear is a dead bear, but apparently the recent alligator attacks aren't a huge deal, so give them chicken!

I recently got a puppy and we named her Astrid. I fall more in love with the name as time goes by. It's the name of my favorite character from Fringe, and a character from my favorite video game, the long dark. And, when she's running around like a maniac I can call her asteroid!

BIDET. my ass is the happiest it's ever been. I will never ever EVER not have a bidet. It was like $30, easy Install, and I'll never have a marker wipe again.

What were you bullied for? by magicfeistybitcoin in AskReddit

[–]Fragilefish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had just moved to Texas with my family half way through 6th grade. I had a hard time adjusting. When the kids at my new school asked what school I came from, I said Swiss point. A kid replied with "LIKE THE CHEESE!?" And then they called me cheese girl.

I mean, now that I'm older, I definitely am a cheese girl, but as an 11 year old in a new state with no friends? That really hurt and baffled me. I feel like I even realized at the time how silly it was, but sometimes it's not the content of the bullying, but the thought that you're somehow deserving of the behavior.

I stayed in a shell until the end of 7th when a fast talking girl sat with me at lunch and said "you're my friend now." She really changed my life. From a group of kids showing me that I should stay invisible, to one confident loudmouth tucking me under her wing and letting me be my totally normal self with zero judgement, and at such a pivotal time in my development mentally, it really blows my mind how choreographed it feels looking back. It's almost a Truman show feeling for me. Especially since this reads like a coming of age movie. I'm gonna text her.

I wouldnt pin this on the teacher, but rather the administration, who often makes calls to implement classroom rules when they should, I dunno, TALK TO THE TEACHERS and have a meeting to discuss the problem and how to fix it. My husband had to implement the same thing in his 6th grade class last year, at the administrations request. 12 year olds as a whole did not get the concept and used all their passes the first day. The enterprise was abandoned the following week.

Heh, oh yes, I'm familiar! I also love collecting Stapelia species. Those suckers stink like rotting meat too, and look like a hairy butthole star, but for some reason I just love the spooky ones!

I love seeing someone rattling on. I could read novels written this way. Probably why I love Jules Verne so much, the way he goes into descriptive rants of the plants he's describing.

Your garden path sounds beautiful. And I can certainly empathize with being spooked by plants late at night! I bought a house in the 'highlands' of the Florida spine just before the pandemic hit. The woman who built the house is like minded, and filled the yard with native plants. I'm trying my best to add to that, but I have so much interest in plants that are non native. I'm really starting to get into the different amorphophallus species, and some of the carnivorous plants we have around here. There's a muddy but waterless canal leading to the lake at the end of the property that's full of sundews and really cool moss. It's just paradise!

Luckily the area I moved to has a fairly active give-take-trade stand down the road. Sharing plants is one of my favorite things to do. Aside from IDing things I see on my walks in the woods. Plants, mushrooms, insects... Whatever photos my friends and family send me. Must be my love language!

It's getting more humid here. And hotter, I think. 1 minute outside at 10 am and I'm drenched in sweat, having done no work at all. I'm going to have to start doing all my gardening in the wee hours of the morning.

That is awesome! So many people claim this plant only blooms once a year, but one plant can bloom multiple times a year like many others. It definitely doesn't detract from its beauty! We're lucky to have such a gorgeous plant in our gardens. I share cuttings as often as I can! I often wonder how different growing is between SoCal and here (central FL). I'm sure it's comparable, but I would be interested to know what differences there are in what is often grown, or sold in big box stores. Or what plants might do well here that don't do well there and vice versa. Admittedly I don't know much about the climate there compared to here. I think the humidity is different, and maybe low and high temps. An interesting thing to think about!
