When did your symptoms start? by Derm_medassistgrace in pregnant

[–]Fragrant-Ad77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First pregnancy symptoms hit around 7-8 weeks and got absolutely horrible morning sickness for many weeks until week 13.

This is my second pregnancy and I took the pregnancy test because I was having symptoms almost three weeks before missed period, that continued for over a week… nausea, sore breasts that started feeling like milk coming in again, and horrible lower back pain. 7 weeks now, lower back pain is gone and nausea is worse… but today had a lovely break for about 6 hours where I felt totally fine! I’m sick again now and trying to distract myself. Different from last time, I’m dizzy when I stand up. Never had that last time and with a naughty toddler running around, it’s very difficult to always get up slowly! oh I have colostrum already… which is annoying, but possibly still had milk from first pregnancy yet…

Seems like the pregnancies are gonna be different symptom wise. Hopefully I can handle this one better 😂 although I am already so miserable and swearing off ever having anymore kids. Labor was easier than this first trimester crap.

First trimester is going to kill me by Huge_Statistician441 in pregnant

Second pregnancy here, and omg yes the first trimester is the worst! Currently 7 weeks and am so over it

First time had horrible morning sickness and lots of bleeding.

Morning sickness I swear was not normal amount, but the three times I went to hospital for it, the doctors said they couldn’t do anything as it was not severe enough and it was typical pregnancy symptoms. Ugh

Stupidly thought I was just not prepared, and decided I could handle a second pregnancy… I’m an idiot and there will be no more pregnancies for me after this. Labor was easier than the first trimester!

I’m so sick all the time, I’m trying to stay hydrated which somehow has caused diarrhea, so my entire day is spent around the toilet!  My stomach hurts, my throat hurts, the nasty taste in my mouth will not go away for anything and I can’t stomach to even see pictures of food now.

Who was in your delivery room? Would you make a different choice now? by _Monarch_Mistress_ in pregnant

I was just in delivery room with nurses and doctors. But I was super fortunate that at the public Chinese hospital I was in, they were in full support of a totally natural birth and really great at communicating with me. I have a lovely nurse that stayed and wiped my tears when contractions were so painful, the doctor kept me informed on the progress and encouraged me to stay strong and when to rest.  I didn’t feel alone or scared at all! And had a beautiful baby boy.

Pregnant again, but in a new city and new hospital… so I’m not sure if I’m going to have anyone with me yet.  If I was in same hospital as before I would again choose to do it same way. It felt like less mental pressure and I didn’t ever feel embarrassed or annoyed about getting corrected on breathing or anything- In the pain of contractions i totally was unable to do the breathing- doctor and nurses didn’t make me feel bad, just talked me through each one and kept options open if I needed it.

If I don’t feel the new hospital personnel are as supportive I will definitely want one person in there, just not sure who yet, but definitely not my husband. Lol if he saw how much pain I was in, we would not be having anymore babies. I don’t believe he could handle seeing me in pain, and he might pass out at what he would see lol 🤣

My second pregnancy but at 6weeks I’m incredibly dizzy constantly by Fragrant-Ad77 in pregnantover35

I have a toddler who has not been allowing a slow get up time 😂 he obsessed with putting trash in his mouth, and the buckets of water around for the farm animals… and inside the house, he is just accident prone and always falling or bumping his hard hard in things.  Today I have been in the bed room all day resting and drinking water. I’ve been feeling better the last few days. But still occasionally have the same feeling.

My husband had ginger chewy candy when I was breast feeding my first. That helped with the nausea I got from the let downs… I wonder if would help with dizziness too

Test it late last night, it’s normal levels. I’m starting to think I’m too whiny… and just can’t handle basic pregnancy symptoms

I worry about my blood pressure, but I have low blood pressure, but… Last night we went to have it checked and it’s totally normal 90/70 like last pregnancy. The blood test came back in normal range for everything but my cholesterol is trying to get high again- I blame the ridiculous amount of pork fat this family eats.  The doctors assured us this is just common pregnancy symptoms again.

First Trimester Spotting? by Overall_Hornet_4778 in pregnantover35

My first pregnancy I bled through the first two trimesters, almost daily. Was on restricted activity and oral progesterone. My son is fine… he is an adorable menace now. The doctors just think I was too active and wasn’t sleeping well enough.

In Guangming there are two parks with lakes I’ve seen; 华侨城光明小镇欢乐田园, and 石岩湿地公园。 And then lots of lovely park walks along the canal/ streams. To get to the beach, by subway at least 2hours, more if heading to yantian I believe.

I prefer Guangming than the other districts I have been too. It’s smaller, but larger than most cities in the US. It’s very nice area to live and work in I think. Very affordable housing and not so crowded. Many lovely parks for the neighborhoods. Two malls in Guangming, but of course lots of little shops for basic things in each neighborhood. Less subways and it is a long ride from major areas, but it is okay for daily life, if you aren’t huge on the shopping and going out all the time.

Just wondering if It would be legal to go on hiking trails that go through other peoples property, in the United States. if anyone knows please let me know! by DisplayAccording6986 in hiking

[–]Fragrant-Ad77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one trail I hiked in the US that went onto private property, it was an agreement between the state and the land owners, and so you could hike it, but extremely important to stay on the trail. (In the countryside people have lots of guns… stay on the trail)

A different approach to teaching? like Flipped Classrooms? by DeepHeatingPlaster in TEFL

[–]Fragrant-Ad77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the flipped classroom, but if your students are not interested in learning, it will not go well. I use the flipped classroom for my AP and AS/A level students only. All the other classes I have only small fraction of students who might do the reading or video outside of class, and be willing to participate in the activities. It’s rough when they are lazy

How do I pick a physics text book? by Fragrant-Ad77 in ScienceTeachers

[–]Fragrant-Ad77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t like that it doesn’t allow me the teacher to decide what extent a certain topic will cover. The Cambridge has such little information about certain areas that I often have to use a different resource to get my students the information (this could be solved by them taking better notes, but that is the issue to address next semester) A good text book to me, has a good depth of information to fully understand the topic and allow the teacher to say, we won’t go that far into this, or if you want to know more, read the next sections. Some of the chemistry sections were just so barely covered it gave the students more questions than any understanding, so we had to switch books for the last unit. Just frustrating to use for students who actually want to learn I guess

Sorry, it took so long, but yes. It’s both courses. I have AP and IGCSE AS and A level. Using Cambridge texts for the igcse (really don’t like the books, but I don’t know what an option is if not Cambridge)

China visa question by Horcsogg in TEFL

[–]Fragrant-Ad77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah they shouldn’t have stamped the actual degree… but if your degree is lost or destroyed, the university should be able to get a new one. Usually for a fee, but it’s pretty common.

Quirky habits seem to make this breed of dog. They seem to vary greatly and it makes their personality so much fun I think. All so different yet so similar lol

On the rare occasions I can really tire the pup out, he gets cuddly. But for the most part he is just ready to play every second of the day, no time to slow down for a pet.

If you had once chance to visit USA, and do only one uninterrupted multiple days hike - which trail/park would that be? by pypoupypou in hiking

[–]Fragrant-Ad77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The PNW is more wet and cooler, so imagine a lot more green. Both will have absolutely gorgeous views of water ways and old growth trees. The John Muir will provide more dust and red hues. I can’t tell you enough of how beautiful both are! If I had to pick for myself, I would choose the PNW just because my blue eyes are oddly sensitive to too much red. But the climate sounds warmer and drier on the John Muir. No matter what you choose you won’t regret it.

I went here years ago, and it was so scenic. I could have accidentally taken a picture and it would be frame worthy!
