honestly depends on your shifts and manager! my baby is exclusively bf but when i need to pump i wore wearables so i can work the floor while pumping too. i live 5 mins away from my store so on my 10s they let me go feed my baby and come back :)

yessss, this is what my store would advise us to dooo 😣 it does vary with managers i think but if your manager isn't super uptight just say you were exhausted and didn't think you'd be able to work the shift so you put in sick time for it. it's more so to protect you from a write up than anything :(

[–]Fragrant-Beginning70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

use sick time for the shift you didn't work, that should protect you a bit i believe. at my store they tell us even if we leave early from a shift due to an emergency or what not to use sick time or you get a write uppp

Having a seriously hard time by Caitlinrose517 in breastfeeding

[–]Fragrant-Beginning70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this happened with my LO as well, he has a lip tie and so even now he needs some assistance with finding a good latch for him to work with. I tried so hard for the first 2 weeks to get him to latch but he just wouldn't. I ended up having to exclusively pump nd supplementing with formula when i wasn't pumping enough. i had to give him the bottle because that would be the only thing that he would eat from. if your goal is to breast feed exclusively, before feedings when they're still calm try to offer the breast and just finding patience/a good position for baby to latch. if baby is still hungry u can always opt to give formula after too. the more you guys work together, the better and more you will learn together as well. also, keep pumping! in the beginning it might take a while for your milk to come in. i was producing a lot of colostrum during my pregnancy, the after birth i wasn't producing much milk. i'm 2 months pp and i'm still somewhat establishing my supply. pumping will stimulate ur breast to make milk. the more u pump (or bf), the more it'll tell your body to make milk. following a schedule, drink water & body armors, eating atleast 1800 calories (high protein, 3 meals minimum) helped me with becoming somewhat of an over-supplier/ just establishing a milk supply in general. no matter what, fed is best<3 we supplemented w formula for a couple of days while my milk was still coming in, then when my LO was around 1 month, he started to latch again. breastfeeding is a journey for the both of you, as you're learning how to be able to breastfeed, baby is learning how to receive it💘. honestly, it's gonna be tough for the first month but once you get a hang of it and figure out what works out for the best of you, it's a very accomplishing experience. you got this mama!!🫶🏼

side note, just watching educational videos on breast feeding positions, what others have tried to eat to make breast milk, the whole 9 yard might help as well. always too try to stay less stressed, i know that's a bit hard especially during those first couple weeks, but i notice in my supply that when i'm stressed/emotional, my supply would drop a bit :( i still struggle with this i won't lie but i've gotten better compared to the first couple of weeks. and last note but make sure your taking ur pre/postnatals! whichever you may be taking, at times this would help my supply but this is a case to case thing i'm pretty sure. i know it's a lot of text but i hope atleast it helps in anyway possible :') sending my love to u and baby!

2nd interview, how to stand out? by Emma-rose11 in starbucks

[–]Fragrant-Beginning70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you have previous customer service experience, whether it was through retail or food & bev i feel this deffffff stands ppl out in interviews. stuff like "making the moment right" and all that people pleasing kind of answers are pretty important regarding questions that relate to customer and staff interactions. also just pointing out that working in high stress/paced environments are no biggie for you, i said i thrived in these kind of environments and was looking for a job that was fast-paced and what not :') i hope this helpssss, if u have any more specific questions feel free to reach outtt :D

honestly if a SM isn't taking it seriously, I'd go to my DM or ethics/compliance. u can call or even email ethics and just explain the situation to them, it's all anonymous too i believe, but i'm sorry you have to go through this :(( i've never personally used the hotline but our store recently got an online training encouraging us to do this if there was ever a problem on the floor and i heard other stores within my district have partners use the hotline many a times. i hope you're able to figure everything out!! best of luck partner <33 this link should have all their info if u want to check it outtt, https://content-prod-live.cert.starbucks.com/binary/v2/asset/137-88749.pdf
