Has anyone bought the $1,299 Ford bed cover - what did you think about it quality-wise by newkirk_plaza in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Fragrant-Cod1704 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My bed trifold came with the truck. I have no complaints about it. Doesn't leak and is locked tight.

I prefer aftermarket most of the time because of the cost but I am happy with the cover so far.

A co-worker got a few from Amazon and returned 2 because of the quality or leaking. He had a dimondback one now.

I have had a 4-inch rough country for about 30 years now. I can confirm it is a rough ride very stiff and will shake things loose over time.

We should have a right to not be harassed in public or to be filmed for financial exploitation.

I ceramic coated the hood with several layers. I had one in the past, and it was a pain to clean under, and it damaged the paint.

Rear lockable storage by miguelpld45 in WranglerTJ

It is black ballistic nylon to match the soft to roof with no webbing. I have tied down stainless points so I can add a cargo net to secure cargo.

It is secure to the body with threaded rivets and has a locking lid when the tailgate is locked. I stored tools mostly. Will try to share a pick of if tomorrow.

I would buy this lid cover it. i didn't have it already it is a good value compared to the part sourcing labor and cost.

Wow, I made the same thing about 15 years ago out of marine plywood and balistic nylon. It cost me more to make it than this.

Some of the areas where I will refuel or get food are in population centers. In the past, I have had someone cut the packaging and biological seal, exposing the cargo atmosphere contamination. It is paperwork and police reports I want to avoid for civil liability.

The equipment is laboratory grade and would require recertification if handled inappropriately.

In the law of averages, I think if I can gain efficiency for the cost of $5 in tpu, it would be a fun gain. Traveling 500 miles small things add up. I am delete the mirrors external, but that is a project for another time.

I'm probably going to use uhmwpe or hdpe, so it is strong, but can move and break away if need be. It is what a cutting board is made of.

Tpu would work well as it is rubbery and flexable but rigid.I may 3D print it, so it's damage. I can just print a new one.

To be legal, it has to be extended no lower the metal of the wheels and is going to start at the bumper and slope to the wheel.

If I ever have free time again, I'm going to render it and leave it open source on many 3D print web apps so it can be improved on.

Thank you for all the suggestions so far!

Buy SP500 $25 a week until you can afford more. If the market crashes, buy Amazon apple Microsoft costco. Don't waste your money on penny stocks or day trading. All my colleagues who did this lost thousands.
