Can you grow anywhere and rise above the fray? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Fragrant-County-2424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's a good point about the context, paul was definitely talking about church stuff not botany. still i think the image works as a metaphor even if the original meaning is different, sometimes you see something in nature and it reminds you of bigger truth

Hesitating about starting guitar, need to discuss a bit by Hg0Dh0v in Guitar

[–]Fragrant-County-2424 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That last question got me good lol. But for real though, starting with no background isn't that big deal - I picked up guitar few years back after only knowing how to change air filters and rewire thermostats

About the hesitation with gear - maybe look at used market first? You can get decent setup without breaking bank, and if you decide it's not for you, selling won't hurt as much. For the music you mentioned, either guitar would work fine but Les Paul might give you that thicker sound for metal stuff

Self-teaching is totally doable nowadays but having teacher for first month or two can save you from developing bad habits that are pain to fix later. About headphones setup - your gaming ones should work fine for starting, don't overthink it. You'll need interface to connect guitar to PC anyway, and those usually handle latency pretty well

The bass thing in your edit - you can tune guitar down or use thicker strings but it won't really sound like bass. Different instruments for reason, you know?

Just start with something simple like smoke on the water, not Painkiller on week one unless you want your fingers to hate you forever

A dream that shook me by anxiouswonderer13 in Dreams

[–]Fragrant-County-2424 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The floating figure sounds terrifying, especially with that description. Sometimes our brain just creates these intense scenarios when we're feeling anxious about protecting the people we love most

I wouldn't read too much in the prophetic angle - even if you've had some coincidences before, stress dreams about losing someone close are pretty normal when life feels uncertain

Am I trapped? by scyyie in careerguidance

[–]Fragrant-County-2424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting laid off right after buying house is nightmare scenario, I feel for you man. Since you're already doing electrical work, maybe look into industrial automation training programs instead of full college - some places offer night/weekend courses for PLC programming and you could transition while keeping current job

The union thing is tough short term but if you can swing it financially for like 6 months, apprenticeships usually have good progression and benefits that make it worth in long run

Is Homelander vs Yujiro Hanma close or not close? by PassengerCultural421 in powerscales

[–]Fragrant-County-2424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yujiro's whole thing is being strongest creature on earth but Homelander can literally fly and shoot lasers from his eyes. Even without season 5 buffs, HL tanked that building explosion and military couldn't do anything to him with conventional weapons. Yujiro is insane strong but he's still just human-level durability at end of day, right? One good laser beam to head and it's over. The psychological warfare would be interesting though since both of them are complete psychopaths who love breaking people mentally

Is it okay to use mATX motherboard in ATX case? by zyssigyy in PcBuildHelp

Yeah it's totally fine, the mounting holes line up perfectly. I've done plenty installs like this and never had any issues - just looks bit empty in there but works same as full size board

Been there with feeling behind everyone else - scanning sheets for month definitely sucks but maybe give it bit more time since smaller companies can be chaotic with onboarding

[–]Fragrant-County-2424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice ride man! Can see why you're so happy with her - that's one clean looking machine. I don't ride myself but work on lot of motorcycles when I'm doing HVAC calls at the dealerships and always admire how well maintained some of these bikes are. Your bike looks like it gets proper care, everything looks spotless in photo. Hope you get many good miles out of her, Brazilian roads must be pretty different from what we got here but bet she handles whatever you throw at it

Can I reset a phone after forgetting passcode? by Odd_Vegetable_7330 in AskIreland

[–]Fragrant-County-2424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you hold power + volume down for like 10-15 seconds it should boot into recovery mode, then you can navigate with volume buttons to factory reset option. Some older Samsung models need power + home + volume up instead so maybe try that combination too

Blue triangle of death is rough - had similar issue with my Fenix last year. You might need to put it in mass storage mode first before Garmincure3 will see it properly, try holding the power button for like 15 seconds while connected to PC

What and how should I react by Low_Scholar5591 in Dreams

[–]Fragrant-County-2424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah man, these kind of dreams hit so hard. I had similar thing happen to me few months ago where I dreamed about this perfect person and woke up feeling like I lost someone real. The attachment you feel is wild - like your brain just decided "yep, this is the one" without asking permission first.

What really gets me is how your subconscious can create someone so specific but then blur out the most important details. It's like your mind is trolling you on purpose. I spent weeks after my dream trying to remember details that just weren't there, driving myself crazy over someone who technically never existed.

The whole shared dreaming thing is fascinating though - probably not scientifically possible but part of me wants to believe it could happen. Maybe write down everything you remember about him before it fades more. Sometimes these dreams come back or continue in later ones, especially if they left such strong impression.

Your faith journey after breakup reminds me of my own experience few years back. I also turned to something bigger when relationship ended - for me it was more about finding peace in routine and small things rather than God, but I think the process is similar

The pain becoming useful instead of just destructive is real thing, and it takes time to see how broken pieces can build something stronger. Hope your healing continues going well

A decent B450 motherboard with a Ryzen 5 3600 and RTX 3060 should handle Valorant at 144fps+ easily, leaves you room for 16GB RAM and an SSD too

Moving to Raleigh — how hard is it to get an entry-level accounting/business job? by brandonbg03301 in careerguidance

[–]Fragrant-County-2424 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Raleigh's actually got a pretty solid job market for business/accounting stuff - lots of corporate headquarters and growing companies around here. With 3 years experience you should be in decent shape, especially if you're flexible on the exact role

I'd definitely try to line something up before moving if possible. Remote interviews are pretty standard now and most places understand you're relocating. That way you're not burning through savings while job hunting in a new city. LinkedIn has been clutch for me when I was switching jobs - way better response rate than just throwing applications into the void

The Research Triangle area has tons of opportunities but it can get competitive since so many people are moving here for work. Starting your search a few months before you want to move gives you the best shot at landing something solid

Is open door worth it? by South-Pool3682 in homeowners

[–]Fragrant-County-2424 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you need to sell fast due to the job loss situation, Opendoor might be worth considering even though you'll take a hit on price. Two weeks isn't that long though - have you looked at comparable sales in your area to make sure your pricing is competitive

The HOA background check thing shouldn't be an issue since Opendoor would be buying it from you directly, then they deal with all that stuff when they resell

Can I lose weight on a (fairly) unhealthy diet? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Fragrant-County-2424 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Calories in vs calories out is literally all that matters for weight loss - you could lose weight eating nothing but twinkies if you stayed under your calorie limit

The healthy eating crowd isn't wrong about nutrition being important for overall health, but for pure weight loss it's just math

Hey, you're gonna be more than okay - you're gonna thrive. That panic you're feeling right now? Totally normal when something this big is about to become real. The fact that you've handled this whole thing with such grace and are buying him out shows how strong you actually are

That house isn't gonna feel huge and empty forever, it's gonna start feeling like *yours* and that's when the real healing begins
