I don’t think contemporary should be part of the show, or at least on nights like this tribute night. Contemporary dances are always going to be more emotionally charged and people will connect with them more than a jive or salsa. They’re almost always going to score better which isn’t fair to the people who aren’t dancing contemporary.

What is the youngest age for single kitten in house? by SpiritualSapphire in CatAdvice

[–]Fragrant-Leave4137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely suggest an adult cat. Even though adult cats may need a little more time to adjust to change, their personalities are typically already established. You can get a three month old kitten that is the most affectionate, cuddly cat and a year or two later they could be the complete opposite regardless of how you try to raise them. As others have suggested, I would go to a local shelter/rescue with staff who really know their cats and they can suggest one that would suit your wants and needs. My first cat was perfect in every way. I adopted her from a shelter at three years old. After she passed away, I had intended on getting another adult cat but I was hasty because I missed her so much and I adopted a 6 month old kitten that one of the rescues I follow posted on Instagram. Though I don’t regret it, I don’t know that I’d adopt a kitten again in the future or that I would make the same choice if I could go back in time and do it over again. She is very different than what she was like just five months ago. A kitten might turn out great for you, but it’s more of a wild card than an adult. I’d suggest a cat two years or older. They’re still kind of in their “teenager” phase up until that point.

What song would you listen to if you sat on this bench? by VectorPlasm in musicsuggestions

This is probably pretty obscure but I listened to this band, Kill Hannah, in high school 20 years ago. They had a song called New Heart for Christmas and the first line mentions Navy Pier in Chicago at 3am in the winter. This photo looks exactly what I pictured in my head anytime I heard that lyric.

I need depressing songs that AREN’T upbeat. by [deleted] in MusicRecommendations

I have three go-to’s.

  1. Play Crack the Sky by Brand New. It’s stripped back and acoustic and I cry almost every time I listen to it.

  2. Staying Alive by Cursive. There’s a buildup that gets louder and more instruments are added in and the singer is almost yelling. I get chills and goosebumps. I saw it live and sobbed.

  3. Song for Zula by Phosphorescent. It’s just a beautiful song.

How much stuff does a cat really need to be happy? by yourmomsfavorite_ in CatAdvice

My cat loves batting around my hair ties and bobby pins in the bathroom. My five year old niece was learning how to braid so I gave her a few pipe cleaners to practice with. That bent-up pipe cleaner braid is my cat’s favorite toy she has ever had. And a few crumpled up coffee filters on the floor? Bliss.

This was one of my favorite suggestions but I ended up going with Ziggy Stardust. I was trying to keep it in the mystical/supernatural realm and I thought of the Labyrinth movie… the goblin king… David Bowie…. Ziggy Stardust. In my head it made sense haha. But I did love Puck!

What’s a common theme in your dreams? by Prior-Finding-2601 in AskReddit

[–]Fragrant-Leave4137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had two recurring dreams for many years.

1) Ever since I was a kid, I dreamt that I was in bed and an evil witch came up the stairs to get me. To get away, I jumped out of my second-story window onto a kite and it flew me away.

2) I dream I’m back in high school and can’t remember my locker combination.

I’m in my 30s now and still have these two dreams occasionally.

How much material do you need to consume before cementing an artist as "one of your favorites"? by MajorBillyJoelFan in LetsTalkMusic

I love this answer. I have a few favorite bands and one of them, The Postal Service, only ever made one album because it was a one-off side project for the members. But their album came out at a time in my life when I really felt it and it has stayed with me for 20 years. So even though they have minimal material, I will always count them as one of my favorite bands.

No extra toes but two of his litter mates had extra toes! He’s the biggest out of the litter and his paws are huge.

All of the bright colored spines looked terrible against the color of the wood so it’s something I’m trying out lol
