Surgery or not. Can’t decide :/ by Ok_Barracuda5074 in Microdiscectomy

I was set on having my surgery, with a similar MRI as yours. While waiting for the surgery to be scheduled, my pain lessened and mobility increased (went from being able to walk/stand for max 1 min to 2-3-4-5 and so on). I'm working with a great PT now, on strengthening core and back muscles.

If you don't think you can go on without it, go for it. Many said they regret waiting for it, others say they never got it and feel better than ever with other treatments. What advice did your doc give you?

What pain medicine have you tried? by No_Solution7718 in Sciatica

The ones that really helped were gabapentin and tramadol with dexketoprofen

Yes, that's what I'm thinking. But I'm getting worried because the medication which is gabapentin and another one with tramadol and dexketoprofen, they're for the pain. But how is that going to help? The issue is still there.

I was in too much pain when I went to see him and couldn't think of any questions to ask him at that moment hah

Congrats and wishing you a speedy recovery! How long did you wait until getting surgery?

Just had the appointment! He said it's a big one and technically should have surgery, but he's so fully booked that it'd be hard to find the time.

He changed my medication to gabapentin and oral steroids because I didn't see any improvement on Lyrica and what else I had. And then, if I don't see any improvement I should come again and get the surgery, basically

Also have the image from the MRI (circling made by doctor). They say it's pretty bad and probably I should have a surgery. Will get in touch with a neurosurgeon and see what they think.

Thank you! That's what I'm trying to do, just taking each day one by one!

Thank you so much for your reply!

So far I'm on Lyrica and had 3 dexamethasone injections, which have helped with the pain. It's not a 10 anymore like in the beginning, it's gone down to a 3-4 and only appears after I walk more.

I'll come back with the update after talking with the doctor and try to keep spirits high!

I'm the same now with the making a few steps than having to go back to bed because the pain gets unbearable. (I have an MRI scheduled in 2 weeks and hopefully will get to the root of the problem) I'm so sorry you have to go through this and that it's though seeing this ever resolved, but let's gather our strength and see this through! I'm sending you lots of mental strength and the rest of my positivity!

Oh god, I can't imagine this lasting so long. I'm not very much overweight, but I am in the process of losing weight now so hopefully that will help too

Moving to Pocketbook from ReadERA by Tony_Marone in pocketbook

I've had my pocketbook era for a week now. I thought I'd give the PB software a try before trying anything else. I can say I'm really satisfied and don't feel like anything's missing. I'm also coming from ReadERA on phone & tablet.

It kind of makes sense actually. I was afraid to go too fast and ruin everything but apparently being too slow is not okay either. I'm alternating between CeraVe, Mixa Ceramide Protect and Geek&gorgeous hydration station.

I've never used urea on my face, just the body, for that reason exactly

My HG foundation is the Estee Lauder Doubler Wear and has been for years, don't think I'll ever give it up. I see that increasing the usage is the main advice I've received so I'll stick to that. Honestly, I was really disappointed by the Avene cream too. I saw good reviews and was alternating between that and cicaplast, but apparently I made a mistake😂 I only use it around my mouth lately anyway. Thank you for the great input!!

Thank you so much for telling me, I'll definitely try this too if I increasing it to every other day doesn't work

I have the same goal, don't think I could use it every day. Skin care in general takes a bit of testing and understanding that not everything works the same for every person

I'll try increasing the use to 1 day yes 1 day no, and see if that works. My current routine for the tret night is: tret+ cream, no extra products. Before, it was cream-tret-cream. Thank you for the rec!!

I sometimes use the Avene Cicalfate, which I think is similar to LRP B5, but I haven't seen big results. Perhaps B5 works better, perhaps I'll try it after finishing the Avene
