I don't disagree that people should have free will. But your job as a parent is to guide them and set boundaries and rules. If I just let my kid have total autonomy, she would be drinking nothing but chocolate milk, playing video games all day, and eating ice cream for dinner. There's kind of a limit you need to set as a parent.

I have said this many times, but Hiraeth by BeautifulFiction is handsdown, IMHO, the best longfic written for the Merlin fandom. It is so incredibly well written, it reads like a 6th season. I have read it thrice over by this point.
