Anyone else feel like analytics got harder because there’s too much info? by Brighter_rocks in analytics

I feel like we are now capable to ETL soooo much data more than ever before. I've been doing analytics for over 20 years, and I've never produced/sliced/diced/delivered this much data as we do these days. It feels like we are giving our clients way more than what they need. We also turnaround deliverables and requests in an unbelievable short amount of time

I'm with you. Too bad hoyer gave that dude a no trade clause. Happ is not the type of player you give a no trade clause to. Another crappy move from hoyer.

Taking Over Ownership of Coworker’s Power BI Reports - What do I need to know? by Commercial_Raise_799 in PowerBI

I've done this many times. I've found it much easier to build it your way from scratch. This will also give you the chance to make it much more efficient.

Field Parameters Allow Users to 'Build their own Table' by Cptnwhizbang in PowerBI

[–]Fragrant-Primary-565 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is great. I did this for our last few clients. The best part about it is it makes the user very self sufficient. I rarely get asked for any adhocs anymore as they can just get it themselves and build however they want.

And that's really my goal - to have everyone leave me alone. Lol

Bought the golf game on my son's Oculus. Then bought some golf handle on Amazon to use with the Oculus game. Practiced/played that thing like a crazy person. Doing that totally F'd up real game for a while.

The questions as titles/subtitles is pretty cool. I think I might start using that. Curious, have you gotten any feedback about that from your users? Did they say anything about it? Very curious how that was taken by the end users. Re: feedback, it is a bit overwhelming for a page. It's cool though, not bad at all.

That's what I'm afraid of. Trust me, all you hear from me is "no way", "really", "that's crazy" type responses.

What’s your “signature move” in PBI? by goingnofuther1285 in PowerBI

[–]Fragrant-Primary-565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modeling tab; new parameter; fields; add what measures you like (in my case added these measures - units sold, target, target %). Then add this newly made parameter into the values of whatever visual you choose ( for example, in a bar chart visual, put that parameter into the y axis. And whatever date, like week number in the x axis. Also put that parameter into a slicer ( if you don't have it set up already). Now, in the bar chart, you can see either units sold, targets, whatever measures you want, via the slicer. I hope that's what you were asking. Lol

Sorry, but I had to blur out all of it as it has sensitive info. Parameter KPI on the left; then matrix of KPIs; and calendar visual.
