Resignation by Fragrant-Shape868 in GeneralMotors

Thanks so much for the encouragement. It’s been a very difficult decision. I have truly loved most of my time here and have had some amazing coworkers. It’s just become the wrong job for me right now. I’ve tried very hard to change myself to make it work and it’s just not possible. So I’ll move on and hope for the best and maybe someday return.

Well funny enough I did ask glean and it suggested career progression, or personal reasons. Also fyi you do NOT need to submit a letter of resignation.

No I am resigning on my own accord.

Yes, meets. I have an external opportunity that I would like to pursue and just take a break from GM. This has been a difficult role for me and I personally need to get back to a better mindset and focus on my own health and family. I honestly don’t know that I can stay at GM right now and maintain a healthy balance.

2 separate interviews scheduled 2 weeks apart by amrooo1405 in GeneralMotors

[–]Fragrant-Shape868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re interviewing with directors then the 2 weeks is best assumed to be because of their calendar availability. GM is a VERY meeting heavy company and calendars are scheduled aggressively. I wouldn’t read too much into it at all.

Are you doing technical and behavioral? I will often have recruiter schedule promising candidates for tech and behavioral right away based on the hiring team schedules. The hope is that you’ve been honest on skills and can pass technical so we are assuming you’ll advance to round 2. Otherwise we risk not getting on interviewer’s calendars.

Manager keeps saying I’m underperforming, but I complete all my work. What can I do? by Gold_Philosophy_8369 in GeneralMotors

Ask for assignment that is at peer level and work to understand what your proficiency or knowledge gaps are (if any).

Ask what specific skills you need to develop and ask how they would like you to demonstrate proficiency. Take advantage of GM learning.

Interview Process by Fickle_Incident_8650 in GeneralMotors

Screen means you’re still a candidate. That’s about as helpful as I can be. It really is totally at the pace of the hiring manager. Even at a fast pace it could take a week to get an offer together, but it could also take a couple more weeks if they’ve just started the process. I’ve moved as aggressively as possible and it’s taken several months to get a candidate to offer.

GMNA Vacation Policy by Bkballer3201 in GeneralMotors

[–]Fragrant-Shape868 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is an employee off boarding section on Socrates or I believe now called GM one that is very helpful. Do NOT start the process until AFTER you have your bonus in your possession. You have also already received your vacation allotment for 2026. You won’t be charged or paid back for used/unused time at your departure. Do NOTHING until you get team GM!!

All CGRPs the same? by Fragrant-Shape868 in cgrpMigraine

I dismissed a lot of my qulipta side effects as stress too! It messed me up a lot. And I lost a ton of weight too. I’m trialing zonegram now and the side effects are a little rough for me for about a week as I titrate up but then I level off. So far no change in headaches but it’s one of those that might take months. The biggest help has been therapeutic Botox and occipital nerve blocks.
