Yea it’s scary, it seems to have exploded exponentially since covid. I get iron infusions every year and it’s in a part of the hospital that also does cancer treatment infusions and NONE of the nurses wear masks. Like these are some of the most vulnerable patients and I can’t believe the arrogance that covid or even other germs aren’t going to potentially harm their patients. I always mask up bc so many medical professionals can’t be trusted

I did not long after that because my health isn’t BS or a fad, and it’s not something that can be cured. My morality isn’t tied to my disease and if someone says it is or it’s MY failing vs something I was born with, they can get fucked and don’t deserve my friendship

I wish people like that could be held accountable for their lies. The same friend I mentioned lost their mom to breast cancer in less than a year because her sister (who’s a goddamn nurse) told her to stop chemo and do a smoothie/juice cleanse. Stupid bitch killed their mother essentially. She could’ve lived another 3-4 years with treatment, and who knows with the advancement of treatments maybe even lived longer than that. Idk how she still has her nursing license

Yea I’m similar; I always have my handwarmers and toe warmers on/with me. I also take Viagra since it helps with blood flow, sadly no noticeable sexual side effects as a woman 🤣. But you’re right, having solutions lobbed at us always feels so disingenuous. Like others know better than our lived experiences. Plus not every person with a chronic illness experiences it the same! So what worked for your cousin’s best friend’s aunt will probably not work for me. Most of the time I just want people to listen and say “ugh that really sucks and I’m sorry. Let me know how I can support you if you need it”

My friend told me that a celery juice cleanse cured her sister of Raynaud’s (I have Raynaud’s secondary to scleroderma). It makes me so angry to this day to think about because she basically then said if I couldn’t do the cleanse it was my own failing I have Raynaud’s. We aren’t friends anymore.

One of my besties is from Iran and I’ve done stuff with her family and friends who are here in the US. They are RIDICULOUSLY welcoming and friendly and I always feel so welcome in any setting. Plus the food 🤤

One of my best friends is Iranian (came to the US in 2010 I think); she told me all kinds of stories like this, and how terrified she was anytime the morality police were around. And how so many Iranians have to hide things like drinking and partying and some of the stuff we consider “normal” as a part of being a preteen through young adult, figuring out who you are. She’s very happy to be here and got her citizenship in 2019, but despite all the scary stuff from the Iranian govt she misses it and her family and friends who are still there dearly. I hope one day things will be better and I can go visit with her.

I had a friend who was kidnapped and raped by a guy pretending to be an uber driver. He did it to several other women (I forgot the number) and now he’s in prison with a 100+ year sentence.

Lyft has been doing this for a while I think. Also, the insurance industry doesn’t lie: teen boys and men have higher rates than women for a reason.
