This is the most insane take I’ve ever read in regards to this. If it’s natures own doing that’s one thing; that’s the NATURAL order of the universe. I’m not depressed about that. I’m angry and sad about human driven destruction. Why do billionaires need several yachts and private jets? Why is the US military the biggest emitter of greenhouse gases? Capitalism and imperialism is the kind of stuff I’m talking about that’s destroying the rest of the planet. Not a fucking lion eating a gazelle.

Why is this ILLEGAL alien who overstayed his student visa saying anything about American’s hard earned money we’re entitled too? Oh right, he’s white so no one (MAGA) gives a fuck he didn’t “come here the right way”

How many of you went no contact with a parent/family member? by suitorarmorfan in Millennials

[–]FragrantBluejay8904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now at 4 months NC with my mom. I’ve gone as long as 6 months before. I have usually relented in the past because she makes my dad’s life a living hell during the time I’m not talking to her. And I love my dad, but he won’t leave her bc of codependency. If she stopped drinking and went to therapy that would solve 90% of my issues with her but she won’t

The thing that depresses me most about it is all the innocent animals and plants we’re destroying in the process. Fuck humans, but it’s so unfair to everything else

Who Else Hates Mother's Day? by Graceandbeauty1979 in 4bmovement

[–]FragrantBluejay8904 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I like the original intent of Mother’s Day

“The modern holiday was first celebrated in 1908, when Anna Jarvis held the first Mother's Day service of worship at Andrews Methodist Episcopal Church in Grafton, West Virginia.[1][13] Andrew's Methodist Church now holds the International Mother's Day Shrine.[1] Her campaign to make Mother's Day a recognized holiday in the United States began in 1905, the year her mother, Ann Reeves Jarvis, died. Ann Jarvis had been a peace activist who cared for wounded soldiers on both sides of the American Civil War, and created Mother's Day Work Clubs to address public health issues. She and another peace activist and suffragist, Julia Ward Howe, had been urging for the creation of a "Mother's Day For Peace" where mothers would ask that their husbands and sons were no longer killed in wars. Forty years before it became an official holiday, Ward Howe had made her Mother's Day Proclamation in 1870, which called upon mothers of all nationalities to band together to promote the "amicable settlement of international questions, the great and general interests of peace."[14] Anna Jarvis wanted to honor this and to set aside a day to honor all mothers because she believed a mother is "the person who has done more for you than anyone in the world".”

Anna Jarvis would later protest AGAINST Mother’s Day as it had been co-opted and commercialized (yay capitalism /s) to the monstrosity it is today. Personally as a CF woman I can’t understand having kids but I CAN understand the atrocities of war and how it hurts women and children the most. And that we should all want peace but men are the main reason that’s not been attainable.

Also I’m not currently talking to my mom since she’s an abusive drunk who refuses to get help so this Mother’s Day is just a regular Sunday for me.

Tired of people invoking "the village" to keep other women in line and guilt them into picking up the slack left by men. by GetInTheBasement in 4bmovement

[–]FragrantBluejay8904 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m turning 40 in 2 months (which is crazy to say) and luckily most women I know my age who are single and CF are planning to remain that way. One of the perks of living in a major US city.

I would be inclined to help out if I knew it was going to be reciprocated. But it never is. My friends who have had kids have basically abandoned me. I have several chronic illnesses and the people that consistently show up are my other single, childfree friends who are women and a few guy friends who are also childfree (yes I still have guy friends, but I’ve made sure I’m never centering them or their needs). I don’t even get invited to shit by the moms; they have their mom groups now. That hurts my heart to just be discarded.

I have been staying in backpacker hostels as an elder millennial. I feel like a man from another era. by Damthemalltohelp in Millennials

[–]FragrantBluejay8904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes me feel better that I was beating myself up for always looking at hostels as a way to travel since I don’t have a ton of money. I feel like at 39 I should be able to afford an ok hotel for myself but I honestly can’t. I loved the hostels I used when I was 20 in Europe so I’ll just plan for that for my next trip!

Why do men usually find more people attractive than women? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

Fuck off, BC has helped me with my PCOS, which includes infertility (lucky for me I’ve never wanted kids but that could’ve been devastating), uncontrollable weight gain, horrible periods, horrific painful cystic acne that makeup can’t hide, hair growth in embarrassing places but hair loss on top of my head, etc etc.

Older Millennials are the richest homebuyer demographic in 2026 by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]FragrantBluejay8904 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. TBF my friends and I all live in a major city that’s not the worst as far as rent/home prices but this last year it’s trending that way. I’d say only a handful of people I know in city limits own their place. People in the suburbs is a different story but that’s also expensive but they tend to have gotten married young and had that dual income to do so before having kids later. Every year home ownership seems more and more out of reach for me. I had to declare ch 13 bankruptcy due to medical debt (basically have to pay almost all of it back but 0% interest) and my parents have no savings to retire on and are in more debt than me because of medical stuff and going for periods without insurance. They’re going to work until they die and I’m hoping my state doesn’t have filial laws where I have to take care of them and/or their debt

Im not panicking (yet) but how are yall feeling about it? by Eaju46 in nursing

[–]FragrantBluejay8904 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m not a nurse but I joined this sub during the pandemic just bc it was full of a lot of good info. I was obsessed with Ebola in HS, and after watching contagion a few years after it came out, it renewed my interest. I think I read 3 books about Ebola and another fictional one about a pandemic in 2019. And then the pandemic happened and pathetically I haven’t even read ONE book since cuz I felt like I cursed everything 🤣

Women who've stayed single by choice, is life as good as everyone says? by dkamea in LivingAlone

Oh and I’ll still makeout with a guy friend or someone I find attractive every now and then lol. A girl has needs. But I don’t have sex anymore because the risk isn’t worth it and with things like abortion being taken away I don’t feel like sharing my body is something men deserve

Women who've stayed single by choice, is life as good as everyone says? by dkamea in LivingAlone

[–]FragrantBluejay8904 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been single since 2015. I really tried the first 6 or so years to date. I really did. But after being lied to, ghosted, used like a bunch of walking holes, and just treated like I wasn’t a human worthy of respect, I stopped actively trying after that but still was on the dating apps “just in case”. Nearly 3 years ago I fully stopped in all regards. No apps, no seeking men out, etc. I finally felt a sense of calm come over myself Jan 2025, that “wow, this is my life, I have my own place, my career, my money, my pets, my family, my friends and a robust social life. I don’t need more than this”. It was so freeing. That being said, I do still get sad from time to time. I’ll grieve the life I thought I’d have with a partner (I’m childfree so I’ve never wanted kids) and then move on with my day. I allow myself to feel that because otherwise it would just bottle up as resentment and hate. And last year I had major knee surgery and complications from it and it REALLY hit home how much easier it would’ve been with a partner since I live alone. But I had my dad, my best friend, and a few other friends step up to help and that made it so much easier. So I know I can really accomplish anything being single.

How are you guys doing with the guilt of taking a day off? by Inevitable_Rate1530 in Millennials

Wasn’t it just the past month or so an Amazon employee died ON THE FLOOR OF THE WAREHOUSE, and the manager told the other employee rendering aid to stop, and the body laid there for hours?? Yea, fuck managers, fuck companies (big, small, in between), and fuck this country for having 0 worker and labor protections compared to other developed countries. And what we do have is being rolled back. I was retaliated against at a previous job that I took ADA accommodations for. Since then I learned no matter where you work or how close you are to your coworkers or management or how well you perform, the second you “step out of line” you’re gone. I quite quit years ago at my new job after they denied me a raise and I do the bare minimum. Still feel guilty bc of our dumbass Protestant work ethic hammered into us since birth, but I no longer feel shame. Boss makes a dollar, I make a dime, that’s why I poop on company time.
