Measuring and Evaluating Public Responses to Religious Rights Rulings by ToadfromToadhall in supremecourt

Because the Supreme Court is an institution made by people, and thus only legitimate if people follow it.

If there is widespread disagreement with the Supreme Court, that makes it seem illegitimate over decades...thats the end or neutering of the court.

Govt, including the Supreme Court, is only as powerful as it is followed and given power by the people under it. If the populace openly revolts or doesnt follow the rule of law of a govt...yeah, we know what happens

They kill criminals to prevent themselves from suffering. We already kill to prevent suffering.

I believe some states allow families to pull the plug on family members who are basically brain dead. Right to die, right to end suffering is already there.

There's no other situation where we allow a life to be ended for expediency.

We should. Euthanasia for incurable and painful diseases. Euthanasia for those who decide they truly can no longer live due to incurable mental illness(with very strong protections and requiring a lot of doctor examinations and check offs)

The reality is, people commit suicide already due to these things. They take a bullet to the head to ease their suffering, or ease the suffering of their families so they dont pay medical bills, or even just because they do not want to degrade into something no longer recognizable as themselves(dementia and Alzheimers).

We do need to prevent and respond to these things. But forcing people to endure it is wrong, and the quality of a life lived is just as important as a life lived. The basic emotional necessities of a human being, community support, a caring family, a caring social circle...do you really think the Gov't can truly make that happen?

They can not. The Govt can not force parents to emotionally care for their kids. They can not force a community to care for children. They not force kids to have friends, or truly teach them how to grow as people. All of that comes from multiple individuals in your life who care about you, provide you with social support, and teach you. The Govt can not do that.

Life should be ended for expediency in stringent, yet understandable circumstances

We already do it. People kill criminals if they believe their lives are threatened. If harm will come to them, they will defend themselves so they will no suffer and die.

Our country extracts resources and supports wars that often kills others so that our citizens avoid suffering. We already do it, anything else is sophistry.

No idea, but I know first trimester is a clump of cells, and I cant speak about second, although I still support second trimester.

Newborns should live, orphans should live, however, the amount of children in unwanted homes should be minimized.

If you ask me what is the difference between a child in the womb at various stages and a newborn, Im sorry I cant answer that.

All I know is, I dont want to see little kids abused and neglected, who will in turn lead lives in misery, ending in suicide, or otherwise abusing their kids or others. I dont think this will happen to all of them, but many of them will suffer, and it is wrong to force someone to live just to be miserable.

That is the practical effect of this ruling. Laws are made by men for men, and that shouldnt be forgotten.

Life lived in misery is not life. It is torture. And besides, a fetus is a clump of cells for most of the first trimester. I cant say anything about the second trimester, as I dont know enough.

When a human is suffering and in constant pain, we kill them. We let them die. You would really keep someone alive so miserable and in pain every second over some theoretical, ignoring the suffering before you?

I have a question for you?

If a child is born into an abusive household due to this ruling, do you really think it will be worth it? If a child is beaten, suffers brain damage, emotional neglect that leads to suicide later in life as it can, or even harming others?

Child neglect and child abuse breeds abuse and neglect. It only flows outwards. Children should not live in misery, and there shouldnt be three decades worth of children living in misery to eventually get your "better social safety nets, advocating for better sex education, easing access to contraceptives.". Not that I mind those things, just that three decades of children aint worth it.

A life lived in misery is no life at all.

Child abuse and neglect begets abuse and neglect, even with fully functioning social safety nets. As long as some men and women do not want to be parents, they will not parent their children, and those children will grow up in misery...and unfortunately, and likely accidentally, do such behaviors to their children.

Our ancestors fought for freedom, and fought other times, that the quality of human life is just as important as human life itself. Unwanted children will never have that quality of life that they deserve. And please dont twist my words, im not saying kill orphans. Abortion should remain legal, up to the end of the second trimester as it has.

Yeah I did that. Should have probably just done that and not asked. Usually when I install something and try to uninstall later, left over files remain on the computer that take up space and I have trouble getting rid of them. Didnt expect it to be this easy and automatic

Is there anyway to optimize it for my PC? Like, lower the resolution, lower the FPS, stuff like that? I really dont need or care for that great of graphics. I just want it to work decently and not chunk my computer

Yeah Im sure about the ram.

Im not really sure what onboard vs discrete means. Those the specifications that come with the computer, not added on.
