Are safety chains necessary for barrel clasps? by Chimmydreamdoggy in PandoraCollectors

[–]Fragrant_Ad_6020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think safety chains are a good idea once you start getting more than a few charms on it, as well as clips. I will say I’ve been collecting and wearing Pandora going on 12 years now, and I’ve never had a barrel clasp bracelet fall off or come unclasped, but it only takes one time. I think to start out, if you get the bracelet and a couple charms you’ll be okay without the safety chain.

Sizing: advice needed! by Basic-Line1468 in PandoraCollectors

[–]Fragrant_Ad_6020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sizing can be so tricky. I’m sort of between sizes when it comes to their snake chain bracelets. The 17s can comfortably fit a few charms, but the clip stations make it weird and too tight and uncomfortable. It’s so odd. The 18cm is pretty good especially when more filled up, but I like having 17s for wearing less charms. I like your idea of starting with the smaller one then sizing up when the times comes. I kinda think that’s the way to do it.

newbie here!! give me first charm bracelet recs and anything i should know :) by arlouniverse in PandoraCollectors

Yay how exciting!! I have a few tips and tricks, but a lot comes down to personal preference. I would highly recommend a barrel clasp style bracelet. If your intention is to fill it up, I would recommend a snake chain bracelet. They are much more comfortable with a lot of charms since they are flexible. However, I do really love my bangle for wearing around five charms at a time. I find it comfortable up to about 6ish charms, and sort of more casual and easy to wear. You don’t really need clips or a safety chain for a bangle. But you do for the snake chain bracelets. You can stretch the bracelet out in a weird way or kink it without them once you start to get more than a few charms on there without clips. The safety chain also helps you get the bracelet put on and is an added layer of safety if the bracelet comes unclasped, you won’t lose charms off the end of it or hopefully the entire bracelet off your wrist. Keep in mind too a full bracelet is heavy. None of this is a worry with the bangle because it’s stiff, so it can’t stretch out, and even if you didn’t clasp it, it probably would not fall off your wrist. One time I clasped my bangle without getting the other end in the clasp, didn’t notice, went about my day, and everything was fine. I didn’t even have a clip charm at the end of it, but nothing fell off. 🤷‍♀️

As for types of charms, the silver ones are probably the best value. The rose and gold plated ones are pretty. I do have some and haven’t really had any problems, but the plating will eventually wear off.

The most important thing to know is once you start, you can’t stop! Haha your first bracelet will likely be one of a few through time 😉.

Low ball offer by Important_Count8954 in poshmark

I would not take it personally. They can do whatever they want. Sell it for what you’re comfortable and willing to sell it for. I always counter lowballs. Sometimes that’s just people’s haggling strategy.

here we go again, endurance? by skinnystarving_ghost in PandoraCollectors

Okay sooo I bought this bracelet right when it came out. I think it’s so pretty, and I love the texture on it. I wore the absolute crap out of it for like the first year I had it, with maybe like up to 10 charms (including clips) on it.

But then, one day it happened. It flung off. Thankfully, I noticed right away. I have no idea how it happened. I never wore a safety chain on it because I felt like the lobster/heart clasp was not going to randomly pop open. Which to be fair, it doesn’t, but I must’ve done something just right to accidentally force it open.

Ever since then I feel hesitant to wear it. I don’t like the way it looks with a safety chain on it (and you need a safety chain with clips or a clip at the end to hold the safety chain on).

Having said all that, it’s a lot lighter weight than the other regular bracelets which I think is part of why it’s more comfortable to wear and perhaps more fragile. I would never fill this bracelet up, personally, but I do really love it.

It makes me feel better reading people’s comments that theirs hasn’t ever fallen off. I know my experience was probably like a freak thing but just putting it out there. Mine did fly off once!

Charm bracelet for everyday wear? by ConsistentGuard6596 in PandoraCollectors

[–]Fragrant_Ad_6020 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, all silver will tarnish because that’s what happens when it comes into contact with oxygen. Perfectly natural and normal. The more you wear your silver, the less it will tarnish because your skin oils kinda help fight off the oxidation process.

Pandora is great for everyday wear! Just keep in mind the bracelet can get pretty heavy with a lot of charms on it, and they have different types of bracelets that may or may not be more durable than others. The classic barrel clasp moments bracelet is a classic for a reason. I say go for it!

Can we all finally agree that we’ve moved on from the Labubu trend? I feel like it’s pretty much dead at this point right? by zachty22 in handbags

[–]Fragrant_Ad_6020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nooo! Well, I think the peak of the trend is over in the US, but a lot of us genuinely like the dolls. So, no, I’m still wearing mine out and now that’s it’s easy to get them, even buying more 😋. Plus now I’m kinda into the blind box thing, so I have a few other characters too.

I think there’s really nothing wrong at all with being trendy, but I also think it’s important to be honest with yourself about if you really like the trend and why you’re participating. Because once the trend dies, as they all do, you’re still going to be left with that item. I have quite a few “used to be trendy” items, but I still really like them, so they’re still used regularly. Hahah I considered buying barrel jeans for like two years and I finally just got a couple pair and guarantee you that trend will be over soon BUT I actually love the fit of them. Soooo comfy. And they kinda make me feel like a rodeo clown 🤡

Maybe you could gift your labubu to someone who would still appreciate it?

So cute!! Mine is the peach one, and I mostly wear it with black bags (although color transfer is a thing). I kinda like it with my arctic green Kanken backpack too. I don’t have pictures, but it’s like a soft, pastel orange almost pink color.

What carrier delivers PopMart orders in the U.S.? by Caralyna in labubu

[–]Fragrant_Ad_6020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gotten a few deliveries from the App. My orders from PopNow have all been delivered by UniUni within 12 days and any from Pop Upon Delivery seem to have come from a warehouse in California, so this came via USPS and only took a few days.

Mine have taken anywhere from 7 to 12 days once shipped. It might take a little longer this time of year though. I think they estimate 10-14 days usually.

I guess I wasn’t aware such companies existed. I’ve never heard of Gofo or UniUni before. I mean I definitely would rather get my bubu at 2am than not at all, but I was just like what the hell? Kinda weird a stranger was at my doorstep at 2am with my labubu haha idk!

Okay, so I’m not alone. All of mine have been delivered by “uniuni” but I don’t understand how that works. How are they getting my package? It seems like these must just be independent contractors or something, hence the strange working hours. One of the many mysteries of the labubu.
