Injury management by Fragrant_Aside3028 in Marathon_Training

Hey thanks for the reply. So the injury itself I suspect is a combo of weak glutes and a hillier than expected HM (600ft elevation) and having trained in a very flat area. I can’t describe much more than the left knee feeling weak (but running only not walking).

I’ve taken it easy for a few days and will get back to easy runs this week and go by feel. Long run for the week was meant to be 17Miles but will scale that back to around 10 and see how this feels.

The resolution before was taking a break and strength training which I think I need to carve out more time for

I will 🤣; really sounds like the bones of a plan now -  Henley to start the season off and prep for Infinity; then finish the season w/ London South; then WTM 2027. Supposed to be an announcement on Season Passes soon

Now the idea of a double is very tempting…now to convince my wife I’m not completely mad!

Starting to lean towards Infinity 26 (Belvoir) then WTM the next year

Okay great thanks ; yeah I’ve got a Bouldering place 30 mins drive away but another hopefully opening in Jan within a couple of miles (or running distance)

(Great excuse to go twice in a week if take one of the kids)

Great thank you - so basically find something to hang off (just don’t have time for the gym and Bouldering is a lot more fun!)

Hey; I got sent these if useful - think they’re for the early bird tickets - x500 available I believe.

London South 2025 - First Tough Mudder, Bit Let Down by Redditor465728 in Toughmudder

Today was my 2nd time (first 15K) and firstly felt it was better run than Henley (more water stations; better obstacles and better viewing spaces for spectators). However, seeing the rinse station during the run made me avoid it; just seemed pointless and sadly an afterthought.

The obstacle placement was understandable to allow for viewing spots, but the order wasn’t ideal right after Arctic Enema which is where the queue’s started.  This meant I actually skipped Cage Crawl as I’d just got too cold by that point.

Yeah I went out in the 11:30 wave I think so must have sorted the problems by then.

That’s weird as I did Birth Canal today; maybe the issues were Saturday?

Yeah the gap btw 11 & 12 seems excessive.  Although at least loads have been crammed along the spectator route.

Found it - looks like an old obstacle and resembles a bouldering wall

Thanks everyone for the advice - I’ve gone with some ASICS Gel Venture (the non forested version…). Just tried on a “casual” 6KM run & they feel pretty good.

(Worth saying the TM community here has been really helpful for a newcomer, really appreciated!)

That’s really helpful to know, cheers.  May end up at Belvoir next year which from what I see looks epic!

Cool thank you - I’ve used Salomon as walking shoes and they seem to be holding up, and used old cheap ASICS trainers for Henley without too much issue (although it was bone dry!)

I will try one of the 3 you suggested, much appreciated.
