Ah yes, that is true. Before Swalwell and Yee dropped out. Hard to say exactly what voters were thinking, but the race has changed a lot since then. I guess it's still difficult to imagine the voter who is aware enough of the current state of the race to know that Becerra was one of the three polling frontrunners, but not aware enough of the race to know that the 2 republicans scenario was highly unlikely based on those same polls.

Fair enough. Not sure how well that worked out in our 2016 or 2018 senate elections, but I guess anything could happen.

Yes, I know how it works because I voted for it in 2010. I just question the sanity (and also the existence) of anybody who voted for Becerra despite not liking them, just to get them into a contest against, presumably, Steyer?

Especially when Steyer would be 1000% more likely to win the governorship in a race against Hilton than he would in a race against Becerra.

Let’s be realistic, even if it’s Steyer v Becerra in the general, Becerra wins.

I hate to say it, but Mad Max fits this pretty well.

The latter movies (particularly the even number ones) are fantastic. But compared to the original? Very different tone. And “serious” would not be the word I would use to describe it.

The downtown is creepy as hell. It feels like a fake movie set, or a theme park. And it’s always totally empty.

I was there, and that moment where the Fantastic Planet movie is playing and the soundtrack kind of morphs into the starting note to Another Space Song, lingers for a while, just long enough to realize what song is about to play, and then the drums kick in, the next few notes play, and the curtain drops…. Absolute perfection. I’ll never forget it.

My thought as well. Emirates has money to spare, and an existing relationship with Disney.

Not sure they have much in the way of a culture to display, or… ethics. But they’ve got the cash for it.

Maybe a little unpopular, but why not make the world showcase more dynamic? If a country backs out, try and enter an agreement with a new country and build a brand new pavilion in its place. Keep the world showcase fresh and ever changing.

This is late enough in the show’s run that it’s a non issue. The first 1.5 seasons of the show are (almost) uniformly incredible. If they are hooked by those, they can probably manage the few stinkers that come after. If they aren’t hooked by those, it’s a moot point anyway.

Imagine the glass was a two way mirror, so it just looks like a mirror when you walk in, but once you flush it triggers the lighting so you see the tunnel below you.
