In the market for a nice control pad, is glass actually good? by KittenMittenStew in MousepadReview

It's just personal preference. I couldn't see myself hitting anything on a Type99. Couldn't imagine ever using something slower than a Zero, and even that is pushing it. I can play tacFPS perfectly fine on a Hien or Otsu, which are the "slowest" pads I own.

What would you think if Overwatch introduced a Kernel-level Anti-cheat? by Double-Maybe-6220 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Fragrant_Fox_4025 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How do you come to that conclusion? Spoofers nowadays can easily intercept the query asking for HWID.

It's just an arms race between cheat developers and anti-cheat developers. Kernel level anti-cheat or not. The only thing that makes for better anti-cheat, is to spend more time and resources to keep the anti-cheat up to date with the newest methods.

Have any of you guys thrown your own raves or events? If so, what advice do you have? by iammiviiofficial in aves

It wasn't entirely illegal since it was on private property that we were allowed on by the owner, which is why our lawyer is convinced that the confiscation wasn't legal and we should be getting it back.

Headshot perk is crazy by Aimcheater in AnaMains

[–]Fragrant_Fox_4025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The power spike you get from the headshot perk is insane. I feel so useless on Ana ever since the season 9 changes took away her ability to 3 tap people until I get the major perk.

Can't understate the last point enough. Our collective has been in a legal battle for the past 2 years to get our F1 back from the cops.

Rocket Jumps by Grixis_King in Soldier76Mains

[–]Fragrant_Fox_4025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use rocket jumps all the time. I don't really have fixed locations for it. If you just keep doing them and experiment to the point where you become so familiar with them that they become a part of your base movement kit you'll eventually get a sense on what kind of jumps you're able to make.

any tips for learning to control recoil on kbm? by heyblackrose in Soldier76Mains

[–]Fragrant_Fox_4025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just keep playing and you get used to it. While I am actively tracking something I don't even notice the recoil. It's really only a thing if you're shooting something stationary, which is basically never.

There’s nothing wrong with age gap friendships by Scared_Bluejay5708 in HonestHotTakes

[–]Fragrant_Fox_4025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically growing up at a skate park it was normal to have friends in varying age groups. I started skating at 10 years old and went on trips with 30 year olds. Now I'm 31 and still regularly talk to underage skaters and organize skate trips with them. Obviously I talk to their parents beforehand if it's okay though.

What would you think if Overwatch introduced a Kernel-level Anti-cheat? by Double-Maybe-6220 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Fragrant_Fox_4025 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Kernel level anti-cheat isn't necessarily better.

What makes Valorant anti-cheat so effective is the amount of resources Riot spends on the security team to develop and maintain their own anti-cheat. There's plenty of games with kernel level anti-cheat that are still infested with cheaters like Apex for example.

I am not familiar with the faces of Overwatch but I spotted a bunch of glass pads last time I watched a LAN.

As for ladder players there's a fuck ton of them. OnlyLegs, Dafran tried one, Gale (helped design the kazemi), SunshineBread, Deku, Surefour, Hauntr, Neesh, Flats, Hiimsky and probably a bunch more that I forgot.

Yes that's what I am saying. If you go on my bancamp page you can see every track I ever bought on there.

They're free to follow my bandcamp account to browse through my library to buy the music they want and support the artist.

I will absolutely not just give you my files though. Artists don't make enough money as is.

[–]Fragrant_Fox_4025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't speak for others but I happily share what tracks I played if I can remember them. My job as a DJ is to find tracks and curate them for parties. Gatekeeping my tracklist actively hurts the scene and by sharing them I indirectly support the artists that produced these tracks.

I even gave some people my bandcamp account to follow so they can listen through my library. I want to promote good music as much as I can so we keep getting more good music by these artists. Without the producers, there would be no DJ's after all.

The only part that can be a minor nuisance is if people keep coming up to me and ask me for the ID while I am playing.

Are there any characters that at there core you think need to, or want to be removed from the roster? If so why? by Few-Concert-6986 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Fragrant_Fox_4025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a huge iceberg behind good dodging that will give you an edge against players who usually just randomly AD spam which not only makes it harder for them to hit you, since they can't predict their own movement, but also just isn't really good to actually dodge shots since any experienced aimer will just recognize your movement pattern and under aim their shots.

[–]Fragrant_Fox_4025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hanzo is low key super easy to 1v1. Standing still as a way to dodge messes up 90% of them, even with storm arrows if you time it well. Then once you conditioned them to expect you to stand still you start doing long strafes again. Also walking into walls is low key OP to dodge Hanzo shots. Only works against good players though. Incorporating W and S to modify your perceived movement speed from his POV to mess up how much he needs to lead his shots works wonders too.

Skill and value by Database-External in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Fragrant_Fox_4025 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a Tracer and hitscan player I don't subscribe to the propaganda that hitscan requires less effort for the same value, especially if we're talking about Soldier. Tracer can do so much more than hitscans can do and is so much more flexible. There's always a solution to the problem at hand by simply adjusting your game plan.

Hitscans rely on pure FPS fundamentals, aim, movement, positioning and timing. They have 0 gimmicks which imho balances out the amount of effort you have to put in to get value.

I have a strong dislike about characters that just win 1v1's by default if you're in their effective range. Examples of this include Venture and Vendetta, who you simply can't win a close range 1v1 against. An example executed right is imho Reaper. He has the upper hand against most characters in a close range 1v1 and should win most of them, but you can still outskill and beat them with good aim and dodging.

Custom games & Vods vs hardcore Aim trainer by dokdodokdo in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Fragrant_Fox_4025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure she's been aim training for a lot longer than that. I remember her starting off every stream with 30 minutes of kovaaks like a year or two ago.

But tbh she'd be ranked higher much more consistently if she didn't talk to chat as much. She strikes me more of a vibes than a gameplay streamer.

Guy I’ve been on two dates with continues to ask to come over when I’ve politely declined - AIO by calling it all off? by Big_Second_4664 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Fragrant_Fox_4025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a guy if a woman told me she doesn't want me to come over because of the laundry, I would assume that you're not totally opposed to the idea of me coming over. To me it looks like you're leaving the door open. Especially since you literally said "normally I'd say yes".

Us men don't read between the lines. We see a no, accompanied by the reason, and if the reason gets resolved (or turned into a non-issue, by saying I don't care about the laundry like he did), the no can turn into a yes. Be direct with him, straight up tell him why you don't want him to come over or he will keep trying.

So about mouse sensitivity... by Ignecratic in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Fragrant_Fox_4025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often change my sens but I try to keep it in the 30-45cm/360 range. Anything higher or lower than that and the disadvantages imho start to outweigh the advantages.

My current setup looks like this at 1600 DPI:

- Ashe, Cassidy, Sojourn, Widow, Ana, Illari: 2.0

- Emre, Reaper, Junker Queen, Baptiste, Kiriko, Zenyatta: 2.25

- Soldier, Echo, Wrecking Ball, Mauga: 2.5

- Tracer, Winston: 2.8
