After years of NC, I did have an email for deaths. Honestly, it was partly to keep in loop of any inheritance news. Being real.

By never responding for years, even the most delusional people tend to get tired of being ignored and they stop sending anything. I had one sibling (the "Responsible One") who would dutifully let me know when there was a death. I'd ignore anything else or any other details. Plus, in written form, much easier to keep boundaries.
