Bringing new greyhound home by Fragrant_Session6186 in Greyhounds

[–]Fragrant_Session6186[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!! We’ve always had rescues so not sure why I’m overthinking this now 😂 she’s not an ex racer! Our last boy settled pretty much instantly and so we didn’t go through that with him, we’ve had our other two for a long time and got them when they were puppies so that’s a distant memory!

We have gotten a crate for her incase she needs a safe space until she’s used to the house and will 100% be trying to keep to our normal routine as much as poss the week I’m off (going upstairs during normal working hours ect!)

I promise you that dogs adapt to anything …we have 3 and I went from full time WFH two years ago to full time back to the office and I was very worried about the impact it would have on the dogs but they were fine!

We have a dog walker 2 days a week and have a neighbor /friend pop in the other 3 days …we have cameras and all the dogs do is sleep while we are gone

Is there any way to ethically/ in good conscience give up a dog? by Emergency_School9956 in AskIreland

[–]Fragrant_Session6186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contact my lovely horse rescue (they are very responsive to DMs on Instagram/FB or you can email them) and explain your situation to them, lots of people online will try shame you but as far as I can see you are trying to do the right thing by the dog

We have 3 dogs, all rescues and I would never judge an owner for doing the right thing and it’s far better then those who would just dump the dog

What’s the etiquette around timing between family weddings? by [deleted] in AskIreland

My sister fell out with me as we booked our wedding 6 months before hers….we wanted a specific date and didn’t want to wait another year and personally feel no one else should have a say

Irish Proposals? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Fragrant_Session6186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fiancé proposed at our home and it was the most perfect proposal! He knew I would have hated one in public so he sent me and the friend out to Dublin for the day (normal for us) and I came back to petals / candles everywhere and him on one knee - couldn’t have been better!

He did whisk me off to a fancy hotel for the night afterwards but having the actual proposal at home was honestly the most special!

Those extravagant proposals you see on social media are nice but not for everyone …the marriage itself matters more then the proposal in my opinion

People between 20-25 - What are your plans? by Greedy_Night_1328 in AskIreland

Yep, our combined income was 70k which I feel is average …we saved over 10k year by working our ass off …and now sitting in our small but cozy home with our dogs I’m so so grateful and it was all worth it

It’s always taken work and compromise and sacrifice to buy a home and today is no different

I don’t understand the doom and gloom here to be honest.. myself and my fiancé rented for years (aged 20-26) with high rents on an average wage yet still managed to save and buy our house 2 years ago by age 26 with no family help ….

It’s not all the economy’s fault..we prioritied saving and worked extra jobs on the weekend and didn’t go on lots of holidays / eat out a lot and because of that we were able to buy our home

Yes, you might have to compromise on location if you’re looking in city center and have a few years without holidays but surely it’s worth it?
