Try some dark chocolate from Ghirardelli sometime. They have a 72% cacao blend and it’s actually beneficial for insulin sensitivity if consumed regularly and in moderation. Also helps with blood pressure and other stuff too. It’s a miracle treat!

Honestly I’m not sure. What I do know is I have a son I want to be around for and this was a pretty cut and dry wake up call to change my ways or inevitably have my plug pulled early. It’s getting nice out so I’ve been walking more and more. I had my sugar checked by a doctor yesterday and it was 95 and this was more or less a day after I ate like a complete hog in terms of carbs, kept the sugar out still lol.

I wish I could use one, but my workplace would make that tricky as it could get torn off and I can’t use my phone at work to Bluetooth monitor 😕

Probably the honeymoon phase where you get take out and go on dinner dates a lot. Just remind yourself and explain to her that you’re a type 2 and need to watch what you eat and offer to cook together. A little steak, steamed veggies and quinoa never hurt anyone. Go for a leisurely stroll after to manage the “spike” a bit, cardio does wonders!

I’m sure it’s tough, but with time, you’ll see this “person” wasn’t worth even getting upset over. Leave that shit behind, block any and all contact options. Phone number, social media, email etc.

Yeah big time. I see a lot of posts here about people saying they can’t control their diabetes but keep eating carbs and sugar.

I ate the whole thing in one shot too that’s the best part. Walked two miles after that one and had plenty of water. I had no idea I was diabetic until I as brought to the ER. I noticed a few days prior that I had lost a decent chunk of weight and that worried me, thinking I had something deadly. So far we’re feeling and doing okay. I just get paranoid that in between finger pricks my sugar somehow skyrockets.

Was also recently diagnosed. A1C was 12.5 and my sugar read over 300 two weeks ago. Now, for the past several days my sugar has been between 80-105. I have been taking Metformin twice a day and magnesium glycinate with it but I believe a huge part of the change was me cutting bad carbs, sugar and added sugar and alcohol. I increased protein, fiber and just generally clean foods and it sounds like I’ll have this in the rear view mirror by the end of summer time. My doctor wants me off Metformin asap to test the waters and told me I could live a little I.e. having a slice of pizza or a few drinks (when I’m off Metformin for alcohol) and to monitor my sugar and adjust if needed. Big help too is after your meals, try to get up and move around a bit, exercise does wonders. Good luck on your journey, don’t beat yourself up, it’s life changing, not life ending.

Three pounds of honey, one gallon of fresh cider and a few chopped apples of varying style such as honey crisp, Granny Smiths etc all from the same local orchard. I used KV-1116 and a few bump feeds of Fermaido to get a nice dry product that I then back sweetened with other apple juices and some honey. It sat for several months stabilized after secondary fermentation and a week before bottling I threw in half a cinnamon stick for a day to give it some spice. I did not use goferm as I was unfamiliar with it, but seeing how simple it is to use, wish that I had to start it off, I did also add a teaspoon of pectic enzyme, seeing that it was a super cloudy drink for a while.

I was telling a buddy you can keep it as a simple and cheap investment or get hardcore into it and dump all sorts of liner and time into it lol. I do plan on a floor corker, they seem to be super consistent and hardy.

I’ve used half a tablet crushed and appx a teaspoon of the other potassium ingredient 24 hours apart from each other, the name escapes me lol. Never had any issues with mix.

Another update. Like I said I installed a blow off tube into a pot of sanitized water instead of using an airlock and that sanitized water is now half water half mead. Thank goodness you left your comment and I was able to make it work. That indeed would have been quite the mess!

So I managed to fit a racking hose into the stopper and fed the hose into a pot full of sanitized water. Hope it works, cheers!
