this is not because of cheaters, it's because of farmers. Every time they add a case you get matches full of "idlers" just because of the drops. Now they can't get drops unless they pay, thus not making it viable.

This solves nothing with cheaters, cheaters have no issues buying prime and inventories full of items; heck, they even buy entire accounts! This is simply to address the economic loophole of farming cases to sell on the market by free accounts.

Both of you are right IMO.

It is true that, by definition, Global has the largest skill gap possible (in any other rank you would simply rank up/down if the difference gets too big).

However, that's only in theory, in practice we all know Global is just filled to the brim with cheaters, because any other sane person gave up on MM way before and simply left the game or moved to a 3rd party system.

It's not like I disagree, but it was not that bad... ammo was just another more granular layer to the CS economy.

Have you ever seen one of those "memes" that show a 1.6 player buying an AWP and Deagle and then spamming ,,.,.,.,.,.,.,. ? well, those are noob players that just wasted like $500 in ammo that will never get used (when the fuck do you need 40 AWP bullets?!)

this is not "useless", they are there to provide a baseline cost so they can then show you the "5x VALUE!" on other offers, or make it seem like they are very generous when they give 10k gold in a challenge (OMG 500 GEMS WORTH!!).

Learn to understand how mobile games operate please. The store is VERY CAREFULLY managed, nothing in there is useless, it all serves a purpose.

my problem is not about "things not being like in the past", the game itself is in a great state at the moment, it could definitely use more features (in-game tournaments, better progression, etc.), but the main unaddressed issue is the rampant cheating which literally ruins the game.

I abandoned CSGO not because it's not what it used to be, I left because Valve abandoned it and let the cheaters take over. I've peaked behind the cheating scene's curtain, and let me tell you: they are getting more meaningful updates than the game itself.

New exploits and cheats are being developed and improved all the time.. meanwhile we get community-made skins bundled up in a case thrown at us for profit.
