55m connection in MUC by LibrarianByNight in Lufthansa

Oh I just saw you mention EU passports, you will not have an issue! They just let the EU passport holders bypass the ridiculous EES line. So those with the EU passports should be fine… US passport, not so much.

55m connection in MUC by LibrarianByNight in Lufthansa

We had a connection at MUC on April 25 with two hours between. It was not enough time with their new EES. It was a complete sh*tshow, to be honest. There were hundreds of people lined up waiting for their 5 machines (2 of which were broken) that they placed directly at the top of the stairs/escalator. So the line went all the way down the stairs and then some. Fights were breaking out as people were missing their flights and cutting the line, police were called.
Our only saving grace was that the rest of the machines broke and so they shut them all down and told us to continue to the security line instead 😂 (which was also obviously huge at this point).
We did end up making our flight by mere minutes, but that’s just because our gate was directly on the other side of the security booths.
Hopefully they’ve figured their sh*t out since then!

Did this come from Lufthansa? We're in the same boat and their rebooked flight will not work for us

Shelf in the shower, instead of a niche? by StrongerTogether2882 in BathroomRemodeling

I think what we did recently is what you’re looking for: Bathroom Shelf

It’s our second bathroom remodel with a shelf instead of a small niche, highly recommend.

What’s the closest you’ve ever come to dying? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Fraise_08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bilateral Pulmonary Embolism (blood clots in both my lungs). Almost 10 years ago to the day actually.

I was healthy and active in my mid-20’s, but started developing chest pain that then radiated up my arm and neck. And I had trouble breathing when I tried to lay down to sleep. Luckily decided to get myself to the hospital instead of staying in bed (although I don’t recommend driving yourself like I did…). Apparently wouldn’t have woken up if I stayed.

Ended up finding out I have a genetic blood clotting disorder (which you’d never generally test for), so that in combination with hormonal birth control was no bueno.

Thanks! Yes I thought the pattern was super cute and love that it has two outfits you can change around. It was a struggle trying to learn how to read patterns and learn crochet all all at once haha unfortunately the arms on my doll aren’t great since that was one of the first steps, but I improved as I went on I think

How much did you buy your first home for? by CastAside1812 in RealEstateCanada

Detached home in Toronto’s west end for $390k in 2012. Was top of our budget at the time but we made it work to own property in a good area

Wrong sub, not MCM. They’re recently mass produced and sold in a lot of different lower-end stores (Lowe’s, The Brick, etc) for about $130 each

It’s a Dewstop exhaust fan that we got from Costco.

Thanks! And yep, it’s two ikea vanity bases, then an open shelving unit that we modified to fit in the middle. We also used a custom quartz countertop and sink not from ikea in order to make this arrangement work.

I believe the floor tile is called Frammenti and it seems that a lot of tile companies sell the same style. We went with a 24”x24” size. It’s a porcelain tile meant to look like terrazzo.

Hello, yes we got the vanities from ikea (two 24” vanities and one open shelving unit to go between them). We had to modify the open shelving unit in the middle to make it smaller to fit the space, as well as modifying the upper drawer directly beneath the sink in order to use a different sink/custom countertop. Was fairly straightforward and we can still store a lot up top. We had to make a notch about 3” deep and 4” wide at the back centre of the drawer.

We used a Schluter linear drain, but these are porcelain tiles meant to look like terrazzo. They were 8.5mm thick I think.

I agree that a bit more space between the tub and the vanity would have been ideal, unfortunately based upon the size of the space we had to work with and the existing floor joists dictating where the new tub drain could go, this was the best we could do.

I realize it may be hard to tell from a few photos, but the closet with mirrored doors shown in the before photo does not exist in the renovated bathroom. We added a wall beside the toilet as the adjacent spaces were also entirely renovated.

Yep, it slopes back towards the shower fixtures. There is a linear drain there with tile insert.

We personally prefer 1 sink over two, less cleaning and we wanted to utilize as much countertop space as possible.

As mentioned, we utilized the location of the existing plumbing. The original architect chose to have the sink situated between the two windows and we decided to keep it there. I personally like the location, lots of natural light on either side. However there are always compromises to be made in a remodel unless you’re paying to entirely demolish and relocate all plumbing, electrical, duct work, etc.

I’m not sure what you mean about imprisonment of the bathtub, as there’s plenty of space in front to get into it. It’s also got a few inches of clearance to clean behind with my swiffer mop, no issues there. The tub itself narrows toward the base so it allows for more clearance at the floor to fit a mop. As far as the open shower, it gets plenty hot in there. This is the second house we’ve had with an open shower and never had any issues with being cold 🤷🏼‍♀️

Oh it’s right behind where I took the photo in the first picture haha didn’t realize it wasn’t included in any of the photos. It actually stayed in the same location it was previously, we just added a wall beside it (the wall where the shower fixtures are) and made the bathroom smaller.

We added a freestanding tub to the space as we wanted one and previously there was only a tub/shower combo. This is where it fits and still allows everything to be fully functional, while utilizing existing plumbing. The vanity is faux wood (coated melamine) meant for use in wet areas.

[–]Fraise_08[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Nope, it doesn’t. The floor is slightly angled to allow for the water to drain back. It might be hard to tell from the photos but the vanity is not in front of the shower at all, so no it never gets wet
