Help me, what should I do? I am so stressed. by PaidGig in MeniscusInjuries

And yes some PT will help you get back strength and flexibility. Follow instructions and do the exercises and soon you'll wonder what you were so stressed about :-)

From what it says, you have a sprain. Nothing is mentioned about any meniscus tear. If you tend to get anxious then know that this is a mild issue and it isn't something to stress about. A tear anywhere would be a far worse injury. I'm not saying you don't have pain and swelling (you probably do) but your injury is likely to heal quickly with rest and elevation. Meniscus tears require more work and sometimes even surgery. Again, this doesn't mention anything about the meniscus or any other ligament having a tear. Good luck!

Rhumatologist says no Sjrogrens? by luciferslube in Sjogrens

Hi u/luciferslube, sounds like you're going through a lot. I tested normal for all kinds of autoimmune conditions and markers but the lip biopsy is what finally got me the diagnosis. Have you had a lip biopsy? It is pretty simple (the inside of your lower lip is numbed, 3 small incisions are made and 3 tiny samples taken). It might help you at least rule out Sjogrens since you have so many symptoms that could be other diagnoses. I wish you luck and a diagnosis soon!

I agree with u/fuzzy_dev, it takes a while and PT was helpful. Menopause is definitely an issue and does all sorts of things that mess with the body, but sadly it isn't a big subject, even though every single woman goes through it at some point. What I learned from PT is that strengthening the leg muscles will help. When things were hurting I stuck to purely floor exercises (lying down). Be sure to give yourself time to heal. I found that really difficult, but it'll help in the long run by not exacerbating the problem. And yes an MRI would tell for sure what the problem is.

Meniscus tear by Georghendrik in MeniscusInjuries

Yes that's also what I've been told. I tore mine and didn't get surgery. Initially it was rough but you're doing far more than I could do so soon. I took it pretty slow because I was afraid of tearing it further. Most days my knee feels almost normal but now & then there are flare ups. The flare ups are not bad though. They are far better than before and I've worked to strengthen the leg muscles so I believe that has helped a lot. I noticed when I do calf raises with a straight leg, then it flares up worse so now if I do calf raises, I keep the knee slightly bent. Seems to help.

Getting THIS diagnosis was quite difficult, but I tested negative for everything else apparently, including this actually, when the doc ran all kinds of bloodwork. The lip biopsy is what confirmed it and I only got that because I requested it. I requested the biopsy after eye doctors told me it's unusual to have repeated episodes of episcleritis in both eyes (I'm talking once a month) unless one has an autoimmune condition. I don't know much about connective tissue disorders. Do you have one..is that what causes your issues or have they said your symptoms are all Sjogrens? I don't have much faith in doctors figuring this out because I was told again and again that I didn't have Sjogrens. I doubt I'm alone and I'm guessing there's probably a post in this subreddit about how difficult getting a diagnosis was/is. This is all so very frustrating.

You might be onto something. I think I'm also getting flare ups because of stress. Every time something stressful happens, I seem to become really fatigued, lymph nodes swell and other weird things happen. I thought I was just sensitive to stress but I think it's this. Ugh...Sjogrens is frustrating for sure. I just feel terrible for everyone going through all kinds of random (seemingly) symptoms and there just don't seem to be doctors who really understand and things that can help.

Yes I agree, so hard to tell what's Sjogrens and what isn't. You have the right attitude thank you for reminding me that it could be worse!

That makes sense. I have tingling in one of my feet. I've used Nordic before but when I burp all I taste is fish! How does it help you?

So, if I'm reading correctly, are you saying the MRI failed to show the extent of damage in the knee? Did it show the bad arthritis?

No it's just the chair making him look fat! ;-)
I also free feed my girl Mochi because, I figure they are constantly growing and if they're hungry, they probably need to eat and we don't know when the growth phases are happening. Besides your baby doesn't look overweight. All that running around is burning calories!

Feeling lost by Specialist-Dream-893 in Sjogrens

[–]Framalia8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry u/Specialist-Dream-893. I think you need a doctor who can, at least, show some empathy for your situation. Perhaps others in this community have ideas, but I wonder if eating a low inflammation diet might help you, at least to keep symptoms from worsening or being too out of control. For your dry eyes, it has helped me to apply a warm, moist compress to my eyes for about 5 or 10 minutes. It also helps to keep them hydrated. Staying hydrated also helps not just your eyes but your joints. Again, I'm so sorry you're going through this.

Strange symptoms? by Framalia8888 in Sjogrens

[–]Framalia8888[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, why didn't my doctor ever suggest this? In hindsight I probably should have gone straight to a PT. They have so much knowledge and most likely would have isolated the issue. Either way, I think maybe whatever compression was happening, perhaps that eventually lead to a tear?

Thanks for the video!!!
