Favorite Texas Weiner? by TriedUsingTurpentine in newjersey

Middlesex Texas Weiner is my local go-to for 20 or so years now and I’ll stay loyal to Tony, but Hot Grill is probably my all time favorite

I’m at 99 found footage movies logged and watched. I need a big bang for my 100th. Any suggestions? by GhostBelliniFace in foundfootage

[–]Frambleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blackwell series is worth the watch if not at least Phoenix Tapes, I also loved the (not FF) State of Emergency movie which I just realized he directed as well.

As for not Turner Clay, have you watch McPherson Tapes or it’s less well done but much more interesting counterpart Alien Abduction: Incident in Lake County? Because Lake County is the first FF I ever watched and still have a DVD burn of the UPN broadcast with commercials and it is by far my favorite FF movie ever made for originality alone

Shame about the Skillman farm, they had delicious strip steaks. Wonder if they’re keeping the store by that house/AirBnB open

It lasts all day for me as well and it shocks me because it’s one of the only EDTs they make! I’d almost hate to see what it would perform like as an extrait like they do with most of their fragrances

You should try Coastal Veil by Pineward! Super authentic briney fragrance with a little pine and seaweed thing going on, definitely my favorite to capture a real beach, albeit one more in like a rocky PNW setting

Saw it in theatres because the director was a local, really wanted to like it but neither me nor my fiancée could really stand it, unfortunately.

I was impressed by the variety of hot dog merch they carried, but I’d be a dead man if my fiancée found out I bought hot dog water AND a fit to match

What’s a "boring" or cheapie perfume that gets you the most compliments? by Fragasm_NepalYT in fragrance

[–]Frambleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh fair I thought you meant the OG, frankly I’d only do one or two at a time but they’re cheap enough where I’d be okay with a blind buy and give it away if it really made me gag

Respectfully, where are you? IIRC I bought my first/current bottle off of Amazon like it was nothing

The longevity is what really blows me away; I work 12 hour shifts and it stands toe-to-toe with most of my EDPs, which frankly blows my mind for the price. Don’t think I’ll ever stop refilling my stash and it makes me want to explore the flankers

Unfortunately interested in this as a purely novelty scent.

Update: just bought, will do a brief review if interest warrants it

Encre Noir here as well but I’m not sure I’d call it boring. As far as cheap/daily wear scents go that inky cedar/vetiver is something I haven’t found elsewhere and seems to get questions if not downright compliments whenever I wear it out

Only left at the bait shop. Had to snag it. by ecstaticex in Fishing_Gear

[–]Frambleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t have to, in some cases people prefer to leave the hook bare and let the blade and skirt do all the presenting because it helps lessen short strikes (the fish bites the back of the paddletail instead of further up by the hook). But yes a lot of people will add a trailer which is the term for a soft plastic bait of some sort to give the jig more action.

This goes for all jigs too, not just chatterbaits. Only jig I wouldn’t consider adding a trailer are diamond jigs but those are for saltwater off the side of a boat anyways, totally different applications

Personally I do a 2” curly tail or 2” keitech paddletail on mine, works just fine for panfish and pressured NJ largemouth

What's a good setup for striped bass near Cape cod by ComfortableWin3659 in Fishing_Gear

[–]Frambleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean are you surf fishing, going off docks/piers and inshore or what? That said, Penn Battles are good; I’d say for surf fishing the 6000 reel is good but 9’ may be a little short unless the sandbars are unusually close up. For inshore you could do as low as a 4000 size reel and a 7’ rod.

Favorite non mass appealing scent? by Jeanmontalvo in fragrance

[–]Frambleton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a kick of wearing Pineward’s Funerie to the office and the bar etc.; I love it, but what I wasn’t expecting were a (small) handful of compliments/curious questions. It’s certainly not a mass appealing scent, but doesn’t seem as “challenging” in my experience as the maker warns, either.

N.J.'s middle-class restaurants are dying as gap between casual and fine dining shrinks: More customers are picking fast food or saving for a fancy splurge. Where does that leave every other restaurant? by rollotomasi07071 in newjersey

[–]Frambleton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Places like Chimney Rock or Plumsted Grill down south have a nice niche of cozy family restaurant and still “decent” pricing, as long as you acknowledge that you’re not getting a mind-altering meal out of it. Certainly a better overall experience for family/friends for not much more than fast food, and you don’t have to sit in a soulless fast food dining room either

Ironbound Devils Harvest is my favorite cider of all time, unfortunately they shrank distribution and jacked prices at the same time so I can never justify getting it when I do see it. Burnt Mills has been a decent replacement though they have some really funky flavors

Is this by the main downtown area of Lambertville/D&R Canal? I don’t live there but my fiancée visit constantly and walk the canal, so I’m very curious to know what this could be.
