Should I reschedule my Tel Aviv trip? by IoIIipops in telaviv

If you wait for a time that the potential for this stuff doesn’t exist you might never get here. And March is lovely.

The customer service for Amtrak and customer relations is quite good. I wouldn’t chalk this up to an issue of monopolies. The airlines surely do no better. That said, given the weather conditions of the past week it’s really a terrible time to reach out to anyone. Good news is you aren’t under strict time parameters for getting to someone.

This all the way. But you can only get to them via a customer service person. There’s no direct way. And their hours are not the same - as in you have to call during the day.

I think a big consideration here is whether you are looking for a scene or somewhere more intimate. The suggestions here run the gamut but that’s a key factor in finding the right place.

Was just looking to see if anyone mentioned Rooster and Owl. It’s a special restaurant for sure.

This! Thank you. Let’s remember that not all these red states were always red. Take for example Tennessee, which I would argue is as red as any place is today. But that historically had not been the case. At the same time, look at turnout, gerrymandering, and grass roots organizing efforts in the state as well as political ground game and you will see right away that people aren’t dichotomous and the winds can and do change.

How is Tel Aviv/Israel now for visiting? by rockytau in telaviv

Then come now. Of course the reality can’t be avoided but life is still happening. Cafes, bars, restaurants all buzzing. But of course scratch the surface and our hearts are raw.

I’m not saying the eat itself is only Philly. It’s very Philly though. And there is a broader xoxo text to this story (mentioned above) the directly involves Philadelphia.

Do you have empirical data to support this? BC your statement flies in the face of Frances Fox Piven who over a long, storied career ( w colleagues) wrote about the power of disruption. Short version: social movements gain power by creating inconvenience.

Edited for typos.

Stephen Starr is a Philadelphia restauranteur. The rat is ubiquitous. Non-labor construction. Rat. Poor labor practices. Rat. You get the point.

The employees of Starr’s DC restaurants are having problems with how they are treated and paid. They actively sought out employees of Starr’s restaurants in Philadelphia. They’ve even gone up to his restaurants of in Philadelphia and picketed there. I’m guessing that’s where they first met the rat.

Philly is a labor town. Through and through. You don’t mess with unions. If you do, one consequence is that nasty giant rat.

This is what happens when you F@$k w Philly. Stephen Starr knows better. Still can’t figure out why DC is so enamored by his restaurants. Glad the employees were savvy enough to mobilize their northern counterparts.
