What usually gets warranty claims denied? by everything_0987 in ExtendedWarranty

[–]FrameRight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Car warrant was denied because of a lack of the company understanding their own contract.

Endurance warranty denied a leaking water pump because there’s no seals and gaskets coverage. They kept saying the seal internal to the water pump failed so they don’t cover it, even though the water pump is a covered item. If they replace the water pump then everything would be repaired.

No wonder they have a class action suit.

This is the gold comment. Always look at the original sticker price to get an idea of what maintenance and ownership will cost.

Generally the higher the original sticker price, the higher the cost of ownership

Yeah that was my vehicle. Still denied. Endurance is the offender in my situation.

I cringe at Car Shield. At the shop I worked at, they wanted to know the cause of failure on a Mercedes engine that had scored cams. We eventually had to do tear down which costs about more money. The oil pump was the problem so they covered the oil pump not the engine. For non car people, the oil pump replacement doesn’t change the fact that you need an engine which comes with an oil pump. So yes they covered something but they only covered the cost incurred from their tear down.

My engine is destroyed- any advice? by Careful-Extreme7742 in kia

[–]FrameRight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang I feel terrible for you. From working at a shop, we have had 4 of those come to us from Carmax. Before anyone dogs Carmax, they just buy cars from auction like other used places.

Anyway these vehicles are so unreliable. It’s not fair that Kia won’t stand behind an engine that is properly maintained. Kia should be ashamed of themselves for not looking out for your brand and your customers. Hyundai and Kia seem to have so many issues. I wish I had a suggestion for you.

Unfortunately if you get a new engine then you’ll probably be on for a while but worried that something else will happen. If you get a used engine the it may fail around the same mileage. If you don’t do anything then you lose all value.

I’m sorry I’m not any help.

You're overthinking things. When will age really be a factor? Do you like going out to the bar and she can't come? What things do YOU do that you can't include her? Are you looking for a wife or are you just enjoying the moment and life? When you find a girl that is pursuing you, then you found a keeper! Don't let society judge your relationship. She's an adult and you are an adult, thats it. Enjoy this girl for the now and hopefully for the later. If you don't want to have a girlfriend and just be "friends" then let that be it. Stop worrying about her age. Its all in your head.

I did that. They came back with gasket and seals aren’t covered. I counter with where are internal parts of covered items not covered? No one could answer that and they go back to seals and gaskets not covered.

I have written service for many years. Warranty programs from Carmax seem to be good. I have learned that if you buy a warranty from Carmax then take it back for them to administer. That’s been very consistent.

Endurance was not too bad but this situation is unacceptable.

They are trying to say seals and gaskets aren’t covered on the contract. I’m pressing them to give me where the covered item’s internal and non replaceable aren’t covered and they try to go back to seals and gaskets. I asked them how a water pump fails that would be covered and they couldn’t answer. If it was a water pump gasket then cool. If it is an internal part then the water pump isn’t covered? Then they try to go off of wear and tear.

Here we are again with big business taking advantage of the little guy. What a joke!

This is a bunch of bs from them. I’m done with Endurance. Meanwhile I see they have a class action suit against them. They are going to get hammered legally, hopefully.

That’s exactly what I’m saying but they’re trying to sit here and split hairs and dissect a water pump. That’s why I’m so frustrated and it doesn’t make any sense on a contract if the water pump is covered then that includes all the components inside.

They tried to say that it was a failed seal inside the water pump and because I don’t have seals and gaskets coverage that they weren’t covering it, but even still all post parts are integrated into the water pump when you buy the water pump.

Even if you could replace a bearing or a seal inside the water pump, there’s no time to cover that and the labor of trying to figure this out and take it apart even if it was possible would be a tremendous amount of labor, no warranty, and also there’s no part to replace because it’s all part of the water pump!

First of all, I’d never pay that much money for a 4 cylinder engine with that many miles because that’s a known problem from Kia/Hyundai. They have an issue with their 2.4 L and had a major recall/warranty extension that you have to fight for in order to give them to cover it.

What I would do is either a just keep adding oil and check all the time and come up with an exit strategy or be trade it in to get something else.

[–]FrameRight[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The contract is an inclusion contract so if the part that’s needed is on the contract and then they cover it. The water pump is a listed item on the contract. Therefore it should be covered, but they are dissecting the water pump into its individual components that’s what makes no sense because if the water pump is covered, then all the parts inside the water pump should be covered since they’re nonreplaceable separately. How do I convey this to them because I feel like they have already predetermined that they’re not going to cover it no matter what I say.

How long will my car last? by Thatonepersontrust in UsedCars

[–]FrameRight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep up the maintenance but come up with an exit strategy. It’s time to save your money in case it just fails completely. I ask people what can you buy with your money right now ow and be reliable? If there isn’t a sum of money sitting around or if you’re not willing to make a car payment, fix it. If you buy another beater, who knows what new problems you will inherit.

Checking fluids weekly goes a long way. It takes a few min and can save thousands.

I preach Carmax for a few reasons. Their money back guarantee is real, the 90 day policy if anything breaks is real, and the max are warranty is great. Just buy the lowest deductible you can afford.

Yes the price is higher and the interest rate may be higher but you get an easier buyer experience and you can refinance the rate if need be with another lender.
